1Gwae'r rhai sy'n rhoi dyfarniad anghyfiawnac ysgrifennu deddfau sy'n gormesu pobl.
2Maen nhw'n dwyn cyfiawnder oddi ar bobl dlawd,
a chymryd eu hawliau oddi ar yr anghenus.
Maen nhw'n dwyn oddi ar y gweddwon,
ac yn ysbeilio plant amddifad!
3Beth wnewch chi ar ddiwrnod y cosbi,
pan fydd dinistr yn dod o bell?
At bwy fyddwch chi'n rhedeg am help?
I ble'r ewch chi i guddio eich trysor?
4Bydd rhaid crymu gyda'r carcharorion eraill,
neu syrthio gyda phawb arall sy'n cael eu lladd!
Eto wnaeth Duw ddim stopio bod yn ddig,
Roedd yn dal yn eu herbyn nhw.
Duw yn defnyddio ac yn cosbi Asyria
5Gwae Asyria,y wialen dw i'n ei defnyddio pan dw i'n ddig, a
Mae'r ffon sy'n dangos fy mod i wedi gwylltio
yn ei llaw hi.
6Dw i'n ei hanfon yn erbyn cenedl annuwiol,
ac yn dweud wrthi am ymosod ar y bobl sy'n fy nigio i;
i ysbeilio a rheibio a'u sathru dan draed
fel baw ar y stryd.
7Ond dim dyna ydy bwriad Asyria –
rhywbeth arall sydd ganddi hi mewn golwg.
Ei bwriad hi ydy dinistrio,
a difa gwledydd yn llwyr – llawer ohonyn nhw!
8Mae'n meddwl, “Mae brenhinoedd wedi dod yn swyddogion i mi!
9Onid ydy Calno yr un fath â Carcemish?
a Chamath fel Arpad?
a Samaria fel Damascus? ▼

10Gan fy mod i wedi cael gafael
yn y gwledydd hynny a'u heilun-dduwiau –
gwledydd oedd â llawer mwy o ddelwau
na Jerwsalem a Samaria –
11bydda i'n gwneud yr un peth i Jerwsalem a'i heilunod
ag a wnes i i Samaria a'i delwau.”
12Ond pan fydd y Meistr wedi gorffen delio gyda Mynydd Seion a Jerwsalem, bydd e'n cosbi brenin Asyria am fod mor falch ac mor llawn ohono'i hun. 13Am feddwl fel hyn: “Dw i wedi gwneud y cwbl am fy mod i mor gryf.
Roedd gen i strategaeth glyfar,
a dw i wedi dileu ffiniau gwledydd.
Dw i wedi cymryd eu trysorau nhw,
ac wedi bwrw brenhinoedd i lawr fel tarw.
14Cefais afael ar gyfoeth y gwledydd
mor hawdd a dwyn wyau o nyth:
heb neb yn fflapio'i adenydd
nag yn agor ei big i drydar.”
15Ydy bwyell o unrhyw werth heb rywun i'w thrin?
Ydy llif yn bwysicach na'r un sy'n ei defnyddio?
Fel petai gwialen yn chwifio'r dyn sy'n ei chodi!
Fel petai ffon yn codi'r person sydd ddim yn bren!
16Felly, bydd y Meistr—yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus—
yn anfon afiechyd fydd yn nychu ei filwyr iach;
bydd twymyn yn taro ei ysblander
ac yn llosgi fel tân.
17Bydd Golau Israel yn troi'n dân,
a'r Un Sanctaidd yn fflam.
Bydd yn llosgi'r drain a'r mieri mewn diwrnod,
18a dinistrio'r goedwig a'r berllan yn llwyr.
Bydd fel bywyd dyn sâl yn diflannu.
19Bydd cyn lleied o goed ar ôl
bydd plentyn bach yn gallu eu cyfri!
Dim ond criw bach fydd ar ôl
20Bryd hynny, fydd y rhai sydd ar ôl yn Israela'r rhai hynny o bobl Jacob sydd wedi dianc
ddim yn pwyso ar y genedl wnaeth eu gorthrymu nhw;
Byddan nhw'n pwyso'n llwyr
ar yr Arglwydd, Un sanctaidd Israel.
21Bydd rhan fechan,
ie, rhan fechan o Jacob
yn troi yn ôl at y Duw cryf.
22Israel, hyd yn oed petai dy bobl
mor niferus â thywod y môr,
dim ond nifer fechan fydd yn dod yn ôl.
Mae'r dinistr yn sicr.
Mae'r gosb sydd wedi ei haeddu yn dod fel llifogydd!
23Mae fy Meistr, yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus,
yn barod i ddod â'r dinistr sydd wedi ei ddyfarnu ar y tir.
24Felly, dyma mae fy Meistr, yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus, yn ei ddweud: “O fy mhobl, sy'n byw yn Seion, peidiwch bod ag ofn Asyria – er iddo dy daro di gyda'i wialen a dy fygwth gyda'i ffon fel y gwnaeth yr Eifftiaid. 25Yn fuan iawn bydd fy nig wedi ei dawelu, a bydda i'n troi i'w dinistrio nhw.” 26Bydd yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus yn chwifio ei chwip uwch eu pennau, fel y gwnaeth pan drawodd Midian wrth Graig Oreb. Bydd yn codi ei wialen fel y gwnaeth dros yr Eifftiaid wrth y môr. 27Bryd hynny, bydd y pwysau'n cael ei symud oddi ar dy ysgwyddau di,

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
