Joseff yn profi ei frodyr
1Dyma Joseff yn dweud wrth brif swyddog ei dŷ, “Llanw sachau'r dynion â chymaint o ŷd ag y gallan nhw ei gario. Wedyn rho arian pob un ohonyn nhw yng ngheg ei sach. 2Rho fy nghwpan i, sef y gwpan arian, yng ngheg sach yr ifancaf ohonyn nhw, gyda'i arian am yr ŷd.” A dyma'r prif swyddog yn gwneud fel dwedodd Joseff. 3Wrth iddi wawrio'r bore wedyn cychwynnodd y dynion ar eu taith adre gyda'r asynnod. 4Doedden nhw ddim wedi mynd yn bell o'r ddinas, pan ddwedodd Joseff wrth ei brif swyddog. “Dos ar ôl y dynion yna! Pan fyddi di wedi eu dal nhw, gofyn iddyn nhw, ‘Pam dych chi wedi gwneud drwg i mi ar ôl i mi fod mor garedig atoch chi?’ Gofyn pam maen nhw wedi dwyn fy nghwpan arian i. ▼▼44:4 Felly Groeg. Hebraeg heb Gofyn pam … arian i.
5Dywed wrthyn nhw, ‘Dyma'r gwpan mae fy meistr yn yfed ohoni ac yn darogan y dyfodol gyda hi. Dych chi wedi gwneud peth drwg iawn.’” 6Pan ddaliodd y swyddog nhw, dyna ddwedodd e wrthyn nhw. 7A dyma nhw'n ei ateb, “Syr, sut alli di ddweud y fath beth? Fyddai dy weision byth yn meiddio gwneud peth felly. 8Daethon ni â'r arian gawson ni yng ngheg ein sachau yn ôl o wlad Canaan. Felly pam fydden ni eisiau dwyn arian neu aur o dŷ dy feistr? 9Os ydy'r gwpan gan unrhyw un ohonon ni, dylai hwnnw farw, a bydd y gweddill ohonon ni'n gaethweision i'n meistr.” 10“Chi sy'n dweud sut ddylech chi gael eich cosbi,” meddai. “Ond na, bydd pwy bynnag mae'r gwpan ganddo yn dod yn gaethwas i mi. Caiff y gweddill ohonoch chi fynd yn rhydd.” 11Felly dyma nhw i gyd yn tynnu eu sachau i lawr ar unwaith ac yn eu hagor. 12Edrychodd y swyddog yn y sachau i gyd. Dechreuodd gyda sach yr hynaf, a gorffen gyda'r ifancaf. A dyna lle roedd y gwpan, yn sach Benjamin. 13Dyma nhw'n rhwygo eu dillad. Yna dyma nhw'n llwytho'r asynnod eto, a mynd yn ôl i'r ddinas. 14Pan gyrhaeddodd Jwda a'i frodyr dŷ Joseff roedd e'n dal yno. A dyma nhw'n syrthio ar eu gliniau o'i flaen. 15Gofynnodd Joseff iddyn nhw, “Pam ydych chi wedi gwneud hyn? Ydych chi ddim yn sylweddoli fod dyn fel fi yn gallu darogan beth sy'n digwydd?” 16A dyma Jwda'n ateb, “Beth allwn ni ei ddweud wrth ein meistr? Dim byd. Allwn ni ddim profi ein bod ni'n ddieuog. Mae Duw yn gwybod am y drwg wnaethon ni. Dy gaethweision di ydyn ni bellach. Ni a'r un oedd y gwpan ganddo.” 17Ond dyma Joseff yn dweud, “Faswn i byth yn gwneud y fath beth! Yr un roedd y gwpan ganddo fydd yn gaethwas i mi. Mae'r gweddill ohonoch chi yn rhydd i fynd adre at eich tad.” 18Yna dyma Jwda'n camu ymlaen a gofyn iddo, “Fy meistr, plîs gad i dy was gael gair gyda ti. Paid bod yn ddig. Rwyt ti fel y Pharo. 19Roedd fy meistr wedi gofyn i'w weision, ‘Oes gynnoch chi dad, neu frawd arall?’ 20A dyma ninnau'n dweud, ‘Mae ein tad yn hen ddyn, ac mae gynnon ni frawd bach gafodd ei eni pan oedd dad mewn oed. Mae brawd y bachgen wedi marw. Fe ydy unig blentyn ei fam sydd ar ôl, ac mae ei dad yn ei garu'n fawr.’ 21Wedyn dyma ti'n dweud wrth dy weision, ‘Dewch ag e ata i, i mi gael ei weld.’ 22A dyma ninnau'n dweud wrth ein meistr, ‘All y bachgen ddim gadael ei dad. Byddai ei dad yn marw petai'n ei adael.’ 23Ond wedyn dyma ti'n dweud wrth dy weision, ‘Os fydd eich brawd bach ddim yn dod i lawr gyda chi, chewch chi ddim dod i'm gweld i eto.’ 24Aethon ni adre a dweud hyn i gyd wrth dy was, ein tad. 25Felly pan ddwedodd ein tad wrthyn ni, ‘Ewch yn ôl i brynu ychydig o fwyd i ni,’ 26dyma ni'n dweud wrtho, ‘Allwn ni ddim oni bai bod ein brawd bach gyda ni. Gawn ni ddim gweld y dyn oni bai fod ein brawd bach gyda ni.’ 27A dyma dad yn dweud wrthon ni, ‘Dych chi'n gwybod mai dau fab roddodd fy ngwraig i mi. 28Mae un wedi mynd – wedi ei rwygo'n ddarnau gan ryw anifail gwyllt mae'n debyg – a dw i ddim wedi ei weld ers hynny. 29Os cymerwch chi ei frawd oddi arna i hefyd, a bod rhywbeth yn digwydd iddo, byddai'r golled yn ddigon i'm gyrru i i'r bedd.’ 30Mae'r ddau mor agos at ei gilydd. Felly os af i yn ôl at fy nhad heb y bachgen 31bydd hynny'n ddigon i'w ladd. Byddai dy weision yn euog o yrru eu tad i'w fedd. 32Gwnes i addo i dad y byddwn i'n edrych ar ei ôl e. ‘Os wna i ddim dod ag e'n ôl i ti,’ meddwn i wrtho, ‘bydda i'n euog yn dy olwg di am weddill fy mywyd.’ 33Felly plîs, gad i mi aros yma yn gaethwas i'm meistr yn lle'r bachgen. Gad i'r bachgen fynd adre gyda'i frodyr. 34Sut alla i fynd adre at fy nhad heb y bachgen? Allwn i ddim diodde gweld y boen fyddai hynny'n ei achosi i dad.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
