Disgynyddion Esau
(1 Cronicl 1:34-37) 1Dyma hanes teulu Esau (sef Edom): 2Roedd Esau wedi priodi merched o Canaan: Ada (merch Elon yr Hethiad), Oholibama (merch Ana ac wyres Sibeon yr Hefiad), 3a Basemath (merch Ishmael a chwaer Nebaioth). 4Cafodd Ada fab i Esau, sef Eliffas.Cafodd Basemath fab, sef Reuel,
5a cafodd Oholibama dri o fechgyn, sef Iewsh, Ialam a Cora.
Dyma enwau'r meibion gafodd Esau pan oedd yng ngwlad Canaan. 6Symudodd Esau i ffwrdd i wlad oedd yn reit bell oddi wrth ei frawd Jacob. Aeth â'i wragedd gydag e, a'i feibion a'i ferched, a phawb arall oedd gydag e, a'i anifeiliaid a'r holl eiddo oedd wedi ei gasglu pan oedd yn byw yng ngwlad Canaan. 7Roedd gan y ddau ormod o anifeiliaid i allu byw gyda'i gilydd – doedd y tir ddim yn gallu cynnal y cwbl. 8Felly dyma Esau (sef Edom) yn setlo ym mryniau Seir. 9Dyma hanes teulu Esau (Ohono fe y daeth pobl Edom, sy'n byw ym mryniau Seir): 10Enwau meibion Esau: Eliffas (mab Ada, gwraig Esau), Reuel (mab Basemath, gwraig Esau) 11Enwau meibion Eliffas: Teman, Omar, Seffo, Gatam a Cenas. 12Y rhain oedd disgynyddion Ada gwraig Esau. Y rhain oedd disgynyddion Basemath gwraig Esau. 14A dyma enwau meibion Oholibama (merch Ana ac wyres Sibeon): cafodd dri o feibion i Esau, sef Iewsh, Ialam a Cora. 15Roedd disgynyddion Esau yn arweinwyr llwythau gwahanol: Disgynyddion Eliffas (mab hynaf Esau) oedd arweinwyr llwythau Teman, Omar, Seffo, Cenas, 16Cora, Gatam ac Amalec. Roedd arweinwyr y llwythau yma yn Edom i gyd yn ddisgynyddion i Eliffas ac Ada.17Disgynyddion Reuel (mab Esau) oedd arweinwyr llwythau Nachath, Serach, Shamma a Missa. Roedd arweinwyr y llwythau yma yn Edom i gyd yn ddisgynyddion i Eliffas a Basemath.
18Wedyn dyma ddisgynyddion Oholibama (gwraig arall Esau): arweinwyr llwythau Iewsh, Ialam a Cora. Roedd arweinwyr y llwythau yma yn ddisgynyddion i Esau ac Oholibama (merch Ana).
19Mae'r rhain i gyd yn ddisgynyddion i Esau – dyma arweinwyr llwythau Edom.

(1 Cronicl 1:38-42) 20A dyma feibion Seir yr Horiad, oedd yn byw yn y wlad o'r blaen: Lotan, Shofal, Sibeon, Ana, 21Dishon, Etser a Dishan. Y rhain oedd arweinwyr llwythau'r Horiaid, disgynyddion Seir sy'n byw yng ngwlad Edom. 22Meibion Lotan oedd Chori a Homam (a Timna oedd chwaer Lotan).23Meibion Shofal oedd Alfan, Manachath, Ebal, Sheffo ac Onam.
24Meibion Sibeon oedd Aia ac Ana (sef yr Ana ddarganfyddodd y ffynhonnau yn yr anialwch pan oedd yn gofalu am asynnod ei dad Sibeon).
25Plant Ana oedd Dishon ac Oholibama (merch Ana).
26Meibion Dishon oedd Chemdan, Eshban, Ithran a Ceran.
27Meibion Etser oedd Bilhan, Saafan ac Acan.
28Meibion Dishan oedd Us ac Aran.
29Dyma arweinwyr llwythau'r Horiaid (Lotan, Shofal, Sibeon, Ana, 30Dishon, Etser a Dishan.) Y rhain oedd arweinwyr llwythau'r Horiaid yng ngwlad Seir.

(1 Cronicl 1:43-54) 31Dyma enwau brenhinoedd gwlad Edom yn y cyfnod cyn i Israel gael brenin: 32Roedd Bela fab Beor o dre Dinhaba yn frenin ar Edom.33Ar ôl i Bela farw, daeth Iobab fab Serach o Bosra yn frenin yn ei le.
34Ar ôl i Iobab farw, daeth Chwsham o ardal Teman yn frenin yn ei le.
35Ar ôl i Chwsham farw, daeth Hadad fab Bedad o dre Afith yn frenin yn ei le. Hadad wnaeth orchfygu Midian mewn brwydr yn Moab.
36Ar ôl i Hadad farw, daeth Samla o Masreca yn frenin yn ei le.
37Ar ôl i Samla farw, daeth Saul o Rehoboth-ger-yr-Afon yn frenin yn ei le.
38Ar ôl i Saul farw, daeth Baal-chanan fab Achbor yn frenin yn ei le.
39Wedyn ar ôl i Baal-chanan fab Achbor farw daeth Hadar o dre Paw yn frenin yn ei le. Enw gwraig Hadar oedd Mehetafél (merch Matred ac wyres Me-sahab).
40Dyma enwau arweinwyr llwythau Esau – pob llwyth yn byw mewn ardal arbennig o'r wlad: Timna, Alfa, Ietheth, 41Oholibama, Ela, Pinon, 42Cenas, Teman, Miftsar, 43Magdiel ac Iram. Y rhain oedd arweinwyr llwythau Edom (sef Esau, tad pobl Edom) – pob un yn byw yn y rhan o'r wlad roedd wedi ei meddiannu.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
