Isaac yn twyllo Abimelech
1Roedd newyn yn y wlad (newyn gwahanol i'r newyn ddigwyddodd pan oedd Abraham yn fyw.) A dyma Isaac yn mynd at Abimelech, brenin y Philistiaid, yn Gerar. 2Dyma'r Arglwydd yn ymddangos i Isaac a dweud wrtho, “Paid mynd i lawr i'r Aifft. Dos i'r wlad fydda i'n ei dangos i ti. 3Aros yn y wlad honno. Bydda i gyda ti ac yn dy fendithio di. Dw i'n mynd i roi'r tiroedd yma i gyd i ti a dy ddisgynyddion. Dw i'n mynd i wneud beth wnes i ei addo i dy dad Abraham. 4Bydd gen ti gymaint o ddisgynyddion ag sydd o sêr yn yr awyr. Dw i'n mynd i roi'r tiroedd yma i gyd i dy ddisgynyddion di. Trwy dy ddisgynyddion di bydd cenhedloedd y byd i gyd yn cael eu bendithio. 5Bydd hyn i gyd yn digwydd am fod Abraham wedi gwneud beth ddywedais i. Roedd yn dilyn y cyfarwyddiadau, ac yn cadw'r gorchmynion, yr arweiniad a'r ddysgeidiaeth rois i iddo.” 6Felly dyma Isaac yn mynd i fyw i Gerar. 7Roedd y dynion yno yn dangos diddordeb yn ei wraig. Felly dwedodd Isaac, “Fy chwaer i ydy hi.” (Roedd arno ofn dweud mai ei wraig oedd hi, rhag i'r dynion ei ladd er mwyn cael Rebeca. Roedd hi'n wraig hardd iawn.) 8Pan oedd Isaac wedi bod yn byw yno am amser hir, digwyddodd Abimelech, brenin y Philistiaid, edrych allan o'r ffenest a gweld Isaac yn anwesu ei wraig Rebeca. 9Dyma Abimelech yn gofyn i Isaac fynd i'w weld, a dwedodd wrtho, “Felly, dy wraig di ydy hi go iawn! Pam wnest ti ddweud, ‘Fy chwaer i ydy hi’?” Atebodd Isaac, “Roedd gen i ofn i rywun fy lladd i er mwyn ei chael hi.” 10“Beth yn y byd ti'n meddwl rwyt ti'n wneud?” meddai Abimelech. “Beth petai un o'r dynion wedi cysgu hefo hi? Byddet ti wedi'n gwneud ni i gyd yn euog.” 11Felly dyma Abimelech yn rhoi gorchymyn i'w bobl, “Os bydd unrhyw un yn cyffwrdd â'r dyn yma neu ei wraig, y gosb fydd marwolaeth.” 12Dyma Isaac yn hau had ar y tir y flwyddyn honno a chafodd gnwd oedd gan gwaith cymaint yn ôl. Roedd yr Arglwydd yn ei fendithio. 13Roedd yn ddyn llwyddiannus iawn, a daeth yn gyfoethog dros ben. 14Roedd ganddo gymaint o ddefaid a gwartheg, a gweision, nes bod y Philistiaid yn genfigennus ohono. 15Felly dyma'r Philistiaid yn llenwi'r pydewau dŵr i gyd gyda pridd. (Roedd y pydewau hynny wedi cael eu cloddio gan weision Abraham pan oedd Abraham yn dal yn fyw.) 16A dyma Abimelech yn dweud wrth Isaac, “Ti'n llawer cryfach na ni bellach, felly rhaid i ti adael ein gwlad ni.” 17Felly dyma Isaac yn mynd ac yn gwersylla wrth Wadi Gerar. 18Roedd Isaac wedi ailagor y pydewau dŵr gafodd eu cloddio pan oedd Abraham yn fyw (Y rhai roedd y Philistiaid wedi eu llenwi ar ôl i Abraham farw.) Ac roedd Isaac wedi eu galw nhw wrth yr enwau roddodd ei dad iddyn nhw'n wreiddiol. 19Ond pan aeth gweision Isaac ati i gloddio pydewau wrth y wadi, dyma nhw'n darganfod ffynnon lle roedd dŵr glân yn llifo drwy'r adeg. 20Yna dechreuodd bugeiliaid Gerar ddadlau gyda gweision Isaac. “Ni piau'r dŵr,” medden nhw. Felly galwodd Isaac y ffynnon yn Esec ▼▼26:20 h.y. cweryl.

22Symudodd yn ei flaen a chloddio pydew arall, ond wnaethon nhw ddim dadlau am hwnnw. Felly galwodd y pydew hwnnw yn Rehoboth ▼▼26:22 h.y. digon o le
. “Mae'r Arglwydd wedi rhoi digon o le i ni, a byddwn yn llwyddo yn y wlad,” meddai. 23Aeth Isaac yn ei flaen o'r fan honno i Beersheba. 24Y noson honno dyma'r Arglwydd yn ymddangos iddo. Dwedodd wrtho, “Fi ydy Duw Abraham dy dad. Paid bod ag ofn, achos dw i gyda ti. Bydda i'n dy fendithio di ac yn rhoi lot fawr o ddisgynyddion i ti o achos Abraham fy ngwas.” 25Felly dyma fe'n codi allor yno ac addoli'r Arglwydd. Gwersyllodd yno am gyfnod, a dyma gweision Isaac yn cloddio pydew yno hefyd. 26Dyma Abimelech yn dod ato o Gerar, gydag Achwsath ei gynghorwr a Pichol pennaeth ei fyddin. 27Gofynnodd Isaac iddyn nhw, “Pam ydych chi wedi dod yma? Dych chi'n fy nghasáu i, ac wedi fy anfon i ffwrdd oddi wrthych.” 28Dyma nhw'n ateb, “Mae'n hollol amlwg i ni fod yr Arglwydd gyda ti. Felly dŷn ni eisiau gwneud cytundeb hefo ti. 29Wnei di addo peidio ymosod arnon ni? Wnaethon ni ddim drwg i ti, dim ond da, a chefaist dy anfon i ffwrdd mewn heddwch. Mae'r Arglwydd wedi dy fendithio di.” 30Felly dyma Isaac yn paratoi gwledd iddyn nhw, a dyma nhw'n bwyta ac yn yfed gyda'i gilydd. 31Y bore wedyn dyma nhw'n codi'n gynnar ac yn gwneud cytundeb gyda'i gilydd. Wedyn dyma Isaac yn ffarwelio â nhw ar delerau da. 32Y diwrnod hwnnw hefyd daeth gweision Isaac ato i ddweud wrtho eu bod wedi dod o hyd i ddŵr yn y pydew y buon nhw'n ei gloddio. 33Galwodd Isaac y pydew yn Sheba. ▼▼26:33 gair tebyg i'r gair Hebraeg am lw,

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
