Genesis 21
Geni Isaac
1Gwnaeth yr Arglwydd yn union fel yr oedd wedi ei addo i Sara. 2Dyma hi'n beichiogi, ac yn cael mab i Abraham pan oedd e'n hen ddyn, ar yr union adeg roedd Duw wedi'i ddweud. 3Galwodd Abraham y mab gafodd Sara yn Isaac. 4Pan oedd y babi yn wythnos oed dyma Abraham yn enwaedu ei fab Isaac, yn union fel roedd Duw wedi dweud wrtho. 5(Roedd Abraham yn gan mlwydd oed pan gafodd Isaac ei eni.) 6A dyma Sara'n dweud, “Mae Duw wedi gwneud i mi chwerthin yn llawen:a bydd pawb sy'n clywed am y peth yn chwerthin gyda mi.”
7Ac meddai, “Fyddai neb erioed wedi dweud wrth Abraham,
‘Bydd Sara yn magu plant’!
Ond dyma fi, wedi rhoi mab iddo, ac yntau'n hen ddyn!”
Gyrru Hagar ac Ishmael i ffwrdd
8Roedd y plentyn bach yn tyfu. Pan stopiodd gael ei fwydo ar y fron dyma Abraham yn trefnu parti i ddathlu. 9Sylwodd Sara ar y mab gafodd Hagar yr Eifftes i Abraham yn gwneud hwyl am ben ei mab hi, Isaac ▼▼21:9 Felly Groeg a Lladin. Hebraeg heb ei mab hi, Isaac.
10A dyma hi'n dweud wrth Abraham, “Dw i eisiau i ti gael gwared â'r gaethferch yna a'i mab. Fydd mab y gaethferch yna ddim yn cael rhan o etifeddiaeth fy mab i Isaac!” 11Doedd Abraham ddim yn hapus o gwbl am y peth, achos roedd Ishmael hefyd yn fab iddo. 12Ond dyma Duw yn dweud wrth Abraham, “Paid teimlo'n ddrwg am y bachgen a'i fam. Gwna bopeth mae Sara'n ei ddweud wrthyt. Drwy Isaac y bydd dy linach yn cael ei chadw. 13Ond bydda i'n gwneud mab y gaethferch yn genedl hefyd, am mai dy blentyn di ydy e.” 14Felly dyma Abraham yn codi'n gynnar. Rhoddodd fwyd a photel groen o ddŵr i Hagar ei gario ar ei chefn. Yna anfonodd hi i ffwrdd gyda'i mab, ac aeth i grwydro o gwmpas anialwch Beersheba. 15Pan oedd dim dŵr ar ôl yn y botel, dyma hi'n gadael y bachgen dan gysgod un o'r llwyni. 16Wedyn aeth i eistedd ar ei phen ei hun reit bell oddi wrtho (tua ergyd bwa i ffwrdd). “Alla i ddim edrych ar y bachgen yn marw,” meddyliodd. Eisteddodd i lawr gyferbyn ag e, a dechrau crïo'n uchel. 17Ond clywodd Duw lais y bachgen. A dyma angel Duw yn galw ar Hagar o'r nefoedd, a gofyn iddi, “Beth sy'n bod, Hagar? Paid bod ag ofn. Mae Duw wedi clywed llais y bachgen. 18Tyrd, cod y bachgen ar ei draed a'i ddal yn dynn. Dw i'n mynd i wneud cenedl fawr ohono.” 19Yna dyma Duw yn gwneud iddi sylwi fod yna ffynnon yno. Dyma hi'n mynd i lenwi'r botel groen hefo dŵr, a rhoi peth i'r bachgen i'w yfed. 20Roedd Duw yn gofalu am y bachgen wrth iddo dyfu. Roedd yn byw yn yr anialwch a daeth yn fwasaethwr gwych. 21Roedd yn byw yn anialwch Paran. A dyma'i fam yn trefnu iddo briodi gwraig o wlad yr Aifft. Y Cytundeb rhwng Abraham ac Abimelech
22Tua'r adeg honno dyma Abimelech, a dyn o'r enw Pichol, pennaeth ei fyddin, yn cyfarfod gydag Abraham. “Mae'n amlwg fod Duw gyda ti bob amser,” meddai Abimelech. 23“Dw i am i ti addo i mi o flaen Duw na fyddi di'n troi yn fy erbyn i na'm plant a'm pobl. Dw i wedi bod yn garedig atat ti, felly bydd di'n garedig ata i a phobl y wlad yma lle rwyt ti wedi setlo i fyw.” 24“Dw i'n addo,” meddai Abraham. 25Ond yna dyma Abraham yn gwneud cwyn am y ffynnon roedd gweision Abimelech wedi ei dwyn oddi arno. 26“Dw i ddim yn gwybod pwy sydd wedi gwneud hyn,” meddai Abimelech. “Beth bynnag, wnest ti ddim dweud wrtho i. Dyma'r cyntaf i mi glywed am y peth.” 27Yna dyma Abraham yn rhoi defaid ac ychen i Abimelech a dyma'r ddau yn gwneud cytundeb. 28Ond roedd Abraham wedi rhoi saith oen banw ar un ochr. 29A gofynnodd Abimelech iddo, “Beth ydy'r saith oen banw yma wyt ti wedi eu gosod ar wahân?” 30“Dw i eisiau i ti gymryd y saith oen banw yma gen i fel tystiolaeth mai fi sydd wedi cloddio'r ffynnon yma,” meddai Abraham. 31Dyna pam y galwodd y lle yn Beersheba ▼▼21:31 h.y. Ffynnon y saith, neu, Ffynnon y llw.
, am fod y ddau ohonyn nhw wedi mynd ar eu llw yno. 32Ar ôl gwneud y cytundeb yn Beersheba, dyma Abimelech a Pichol, pennaeth ei fyddin, yn mynd yn ôl adre i wlad y Philistiaid. 33Plannodd Abraham goeden tamarisg yn Beersheba. Addolodd yr Arglwydd yno, sef y Duw sy'n byw am byth ▼▼21:33 Hebraeg, El Olam
. 34Arhosodd Abraham yng ngwlad y Philistiaid am amser hir.
