Pobl ddrwg Sodom
1Dyma'r ddau angel yn cyrraedd Sodom pan oedd hi'n dechrau nosi. Roedd Lot yn eistedd wrth giât y ddinas. Pan welodd Lot nhw, cododd i'w cyfarch, ac ymgrymu â'i wyneb ar lawr o'u blaenau nhw. 2“Fy meistri,” meddai wrthyn nhw, “plîs dewch draw i'm tŷ i. Cewch aros dros nos a golchi eich traed. Wedyn bore fory cewch godi'n gynnar a mynd ymlaen ar eich taith.” Ond dyma nhw'n ei ateb, “Na. Dŷn ni am aros allan ar y sgwâr drwy'r nos.” 3Ond dyma Lot yn dal ati i bwyso arnyn nhw, ac yn y diwedd aethon nhw gydag e i'w dŷ. Gwnaeth wledd iddyn nhw, gyda bara ffres oedd wedi ei wneud heb furum, a dyma nhw'n bwyta. 4Cyn iddyn nhw setlo i lawr i gysgu, dyma ddynion Sodom i gyd yn cyrraedd yno ac amgylchynu'r tŷ – dynion hen ac ifanc o bob rhan o'r ddinas. 5A dyma nhw'n galw ar Lot, “Ble mae'r dynion sydd wedi dod atat ti heno? Tyrd â nhw allan yma i ni gael rhyw gyda nhw.” 6Ond dyma Lot yn mynd allan at y dynion, ac yn cau'r drws tu ôl iddo. 7“Dw i'n pledio arnoch chi, ffrindiau, plîs peidiwch gwneud peth mor ddrwg. 8Edrychwch, mae gen i ddwy ferch sydd erioed wedi cysgu hefo dyn. Beth am i mi ddod â nhw allan atoch chi. Cewch wneud beth dych chi eisiau iddyn nhw. Ond peidiwch gwneud dim i'r dynion yma – maen nhw'n westeion yn fy nghartre i.” 9Ond dyma'r dynion yn ei ateb, “Dos o'r ffordd! Un o'r tu allan wyt ti beth bynnag. Pwy wyt ti i'n barnu ni? Cei di hi'n waeth na nhw gynnon ni!” Dyma nhw'n gwthio yn erbyn Lot, nes bron torri'r drws i lawr. 10Ond dyma'r dynion yn y tŷ yn llwyddo i afael yn Lot a'i dynnu yn ôl i mewn a chau y drws. 11A dyma nhw'n gwneud i'r dynion oedd y tu allan gael eu taro'n ddall – pob un ohonyn nhw, o'r ifancaf i'r hynaf. Roedden nhw'n methu dod o hyd i'r drws.Dinistrio Sodom a Gomorra
12Gofynnodd y dynion i Lot, “Oes gen ti berthnasau eraill yma? – meibion neu ferched, meibion yng nghyfraith neu unrhyw un arall? Dos i'w nôl nhw a gadael y lle yma, 13achos dŷn ni'n mynd i ddinistrio'r ddinas. Mae pobl wedi bod yn cwyno'n ofnadwy am y lle, ac mae'r Arglwydd wedi ein hanfon ni i'w ddinistrio.” 14Felly dyma Lot yn mynd i siarad â'r dynion oedd i fod i briodi ei ferched. “Codwch!” meddai, “Rhaid i ni adael y lle yma. Mae'r Arglwydd yn mynd i ddinistrio'r ddinas.” Ond roedden nhw yn meddwl mai cael sbort oedd e. 15Ben bore wedyn gyda'r wawr dyma'r angylion yn dweud wrth Lot am frysio, “Tyrd yn dy flaen. Dos â dy wraig a'r ddwy ferch sydd gen ti, neu byddwch chithau'n cael eich lladd pan fydd y ddinas yn cael ei dinistrio!” 16Ond roedd yn llusgo'i draed, felly dyma'r dynion yn gafael yn Lot a'i wraig a'i ferched, a mynd â nhw allan o'r ddinas. Roedd yr Arglwydd mor drugarog ato. 17Ar ôl mynd â nhw allan dyma un o'r angylion yn dweud wrthyn nhw, “Rhedwch am eich bywydau. Peidiwch edrych yn ôl, a peidiwch stopio nes byddwch chi allan o'r dyffryn yma. Rhedwch i'r bryniau, neu byddwch chi'n cael eich lladd.” 18Ond dyma Lot yn ateb, “O na, plîs, syr. 19Rwyt ti wedi bod mor garedig, ac wedi achub fy mywyd i. Ond mae'r bryniau acw'n rhy bell. Alla i byth gyrraedd mewn pryd. Bydd y dinistr yn fy nal i a bydda i'n marw cyn cyrraedd. 20Edrych, mae'r dre fach acw'n ddigon agos. Gad i mi ddianc yno. Mae'n lle bach, a bydda i'n cael byw.” 21“Iawn,” meddai'r angel, “wna i ddim dinistrio'r dref yna. 22Brysia felly. Dianc yno. Alla i wneud dim byd nes byddi di wedi cyrraedd yno.” A dyna pam mae'r lle yn cael ei alw yn Soar ▼▼19:22 h.y. bach.
. 23Erbyn i Lot gyrraedd Soar roedd hi wedi dyddio. 24A dyma'r Arglwydd yn gwneud i dân a brwmstan syrthio o'r awyr ar Sodom a Gomorra. 25Cafodd y ddwy dref eu dinistrio'n llwyr, a phawb a phopeth yn y dyffryn, hyd yn oed y planhigion. 26A dyma wraig Lot yn edrych yn ôl a syllu ar beth oedd yn digwydd, a cafodd ei throi yn golofn o halen. 27Yn gynnar y bore wedyn aeth Abraham i'r man lle buodd e'n sefyll o flaen yr Arglwydd. 28Edrychodd i lawr ar y dyffryn ac i gyfeiriad Sodom a Gomorra a gweld y mwg yn codi o'r tir fel mwg o ffwrnais. 29Ond pan ddinistriodd Duw drefi'r dyffryn, roedd wedi cofio beth oedd wedi ei addo i Abraham. Roedd wedi achub Lot o ganol y dinistr. Lot a'i ferched
30Roedd gan Lot ofn aros yn Soar, felly aeth i'r bryniau i fyw. Roedd yn byw yno gyda'i ddwy ferch mewn ogof. 31Dwedodd y ferch hynaf wrth yr ifancaf, “Mae dad yn mynd yn hen, a does yna run dyn yn agos i'r lle yma i roi plant i ni. 32Tyrd, gad i ni wneud i dad feddwi ar win, a chysgu gydag e, er mwyn i ni gael plant o'n tad a chadw enw'r teulu i fynd.” 33Felly'r noson honno dyma nhw'n rhoi gwin i'w tad a gwneud iddo feddwi. A dyma'r hynaf yn mynd at ei thad a chael rhyw gydag e. Ond roedd yn rhy feddw i wybod dim am y peth. 34Y bore wedyn dyma'r hynaf yn dweud wrth yr ifancaf, “Gwnes i gysgu gyda dad neithiwr. Gad i ni roi gwin iddo eto heno, a chei di gysgu gydag e, er mwyn i ni gael plant o'n tad a chadw enw'r teulu i fynd.” 35Felly dyma nhw'n gwneud i'w tad feddwi y noson honno eto. A dyma'r ifancaf yn mynd at ei thad ac yn cael rhyw gydag e. Ond eto, roedd Lot yn rhy feddw i wybod dim am y peth. 36A dyna sut y cafodd y ddwy ferch blant o'u tad. 37Cafodd y ferch hynaf fab a'i alw yn Moab ▼▼19:37 h.y. o'm tad.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
