Credu neu gadw'r Gyfraith?
1Chi bobl Galatia, ydych chi wir mor dwp â hynny? Pwy sydd wedi'ch hudo chi? Cafodd ystyr marwolaeth Iesu y Meseia ar y groes ei esbonio'n glir i chi. 2Atebwch un cwestiwn: Ddaeth yr Ysbryd Glân i'ch bywyd chi trwy i chi gadw'r Gyfraith Iddewig yn ddeddfol neu trwy i chi gredu'r neges am y Meseia? 3Alla i ddim credu eich bod chi mor ddwl! Ar ôl dechrau byw dan ddylanwad yr Ysbryd, ydych chi'n mynd i geisio gorffen y daith yn eich nerth eich hunain? 4Gawsoch chi'r holl brofiadau yna i ddim byd? – mae'n anodd gen i gredu hynny! 5Wnaeth Duw roi ei Ysbryd i chi, a gwneud gwyrthiau yn eich plith chi, am eich bod chi wedi cadw holl fanion y Gyfraith Iddewig? Wrth gwrs ddim! Ond am eich bod wedi credu! 6Meddyliwch am Abraham: “Credodd, a chafodd ei dderbyn i berthynas iawn gyda Duw.” a 7Felly, y rhai sy'n credu sy'n blant go iawn i Abraham! 8Ac roedd yr ysgrifau sanctaidd wedi dweud ymlaen llaw fod Duw'n mynd i ddod â phobl sydd ddim yn Iddewon i berthynas iawn ag e'i hun, drwy iddyn nhw gredu ynddo. Rhannodd Duw y newyddion da hwnnw gydag Abraham ymhell bell yn ôl: “Bydd gwledydd y byd i gyd yn cael eu bendithio trwot ti.” b 9A dyna sy'n digwydd! – y rhai sy'n credu sy'n cael y fendith, yn union yr un fath ag Abraham, achos credu wnaeth e. 10Mae'r rhai sy'n meddwl y byddan nhw'n iawn am eu bod nhw'n cadw manion y Gyfraith Iddewig yn dal i fyw dan gysgod melltith. Mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud: “Melltith ar bawb sydd ddim yn dal ati i wneud pob peth mae Llyfr y Gyfraith yn ei ddweud.” c 11Felly mae'n gwbl amlwg fod y Gyfraith ddim yn gallu dod â neb i berthynas iawn gyda Duw, am mai “Trwy ffydd mae'r un sy'n iawn gyda Duw yn byw.” d 12Mae'r syniad o gadw rheolau'r Gyfraith yn hollol wahanol – does dim angen ffydd. Dweud mae'r Gyfraith: “Y rhai sy'n gwneud y pethau hyn i gyd sy'n cael byw.” e 13Roedd y Gyfraith yn ein melltithio ni – roedden ni i gyd yn gaeth! Ond wedyn daeth y Meseia a thalu'r pris i'n gollwng ni'n rhydd. Cafodd e ei felltithio yn ein lle ni. Fel mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud: “Mae pawb sy'n cael eu crogi ar bren wedi eu melltithio.” f 14Talodd y Meseia Iesu y pris i'n gollwng ni'n rhydd, er mwyn i bobl o'r cenhedloedd eraill i gyd gael profi'r un fendith ag Abraham. Ac wrth gredu dŷn ni hefyd yn derbyn yr Ysbryd gafodd ei addo.Y Gyfraith a'r Addewid
15Frodyr a chwiorydd, gadewch i mi esbonio'r peth drwy ddefnyddio darlun o fywyd bob dydd. Mae'r un fath ag ewyllys. Os ydy ewyllys wedi ei gwneud yn gyfreithlon does gan neb hawl i'w dileu hi nac ychwanegu dim ati. 16Nawr, roedd Duw wedi rhoi addewid i Abraham ac i un o'i ddisgynyddion – sylwch mai ‛hedyn‛ ydy'r gair sy'n cael ei ddefnyddio yn yr ysgrifau sanctaidd, dim y gair lluosog ‛hadau‛ fyddai'n cyfeirio at lawer o bobl. Y ffurf unigol sy'n cael ei ddefnyddio, ac felly mae'n sôn am un person yn unig, sef y Meseia. 17Dyma beth dw i'n ei ddweud: Allai'r Gyfraith, oedd wedi ei rhoi ar ôl 430 mlynedd, ▼▼3:17 430 mlynedd: Dyna am faint fuodd yr Hebreaid yn yr Aifft
h ddim dileu yr ymrwymiad hwnnw oedd Duw wedi ei wneud gynt ac wedi addo ei gadw. 18Os ydy derbyn y cwbl mae Duw am ei roi i ni yn dibynnu ar gadw'r Gyfraith Iddewig, dydy e ddim yn ganlyniad i'r ffaith fod Duw wedi gwneud addewid! Ond beth wnaeth Duw yn ei haelioni oedd gwneud addewid i Abraham. 19Felly beth oedd diben rhoi'r Gyfraith? Cafodd ei rhoi i ddangos i bobl beth ydy ystyr pechu, hyd nes i'r ‛hedyn‛ y soniwyd amdano gyrraedd – sef yr un oedd yr addewid yn cyfeirio ato. ▼▼3:19 yr un … ato: Iesu.
Cofiwch hefyd fod Duw wedi defnyddio angylion i roi'r Gyfraith i ni, a hynny trwy ganolwr, sef Moses. 20Does ond angen canolwr pan mae mwy nag un ochr. Ond pan wnaeth Duw addewid i Abraham roedd yn gweithredu ar ei ben ei hun. 21Felly, ydy hyn yn golygu bod y Gyfraith yn gwrth-ddweud beth wnaeth Duw ei addo? Na, dim o gwbl! Petai Duw wedi rhoi cyfraith oedd yn gallu rhoi bywyd i bobl, yna'n sicr byddai pobl yn gallu cael perthynas iawn gyda Duw drwy gadw rheolau'r gyfraith honno. 22Ond mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dangos yn glir fod pawb drwy'r byd i gyd yn gaeth i bechod. Y rhai sy'n credu sy'n derbyn beth wnaeth Duw ei addo, a hynny am fod Iesu Grist wedi bod yn ffyddlon. 23Cyn i'r Meseia ddod roedd y Gyfraith yn ein dal ni'n gaeth – roedden ni dan glo nes i'w ffyddlondeb e gael ei ddangos i ni. 24Pwrpas y Gyfraith oedd ein gwarchod ni a'n harwain ni at y Meseia, er mwyn i ni ddod i berthynas iawn gyda Duw trwy gredu ynddo. 25Mae e wedi bod yn ffyddlon, ac felly dim y Gyfraith sy'n ein gwarchod ni bellach. 26Dych chi i gyd yn blant Duw drwy gredu yn y Meseia Iesu. 27Mae pob un ohonoch chi wedi uniaethu gyda'r Meseia trwy eich bedydd – mae'r un fath â'ch bod wedi gwisgo'r Meseia amdanoch. 28Sdim ots os ydych chi'n Iddew neu'n perthyn i genedl arall, yn gaethwas neu'n ddinesydd rhydd, yn ddyn neu'n wraig – dych chi i gyd fel un teulu sy'n perthyn i'r Meseia Iesu. 29Os dych chi'n perthyn i'r Meseia, dych chi'n blant i Abraham, a byddwch yn derbyn yr holl bethau da mae Duw wedi eu haddo.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
