Dareius yn dod o hyd i orchymyn Cyrus a cadarnhau fod yr ailadeiladu i fynd yn ei flaen
1Dyma'r brenin Dareius yn gorchymyn chwilio drwy'r archifau brenhinol oedd yn cael eu cadw yn Babilon. 2Cafwyd hyd i sgrôl yn y gaer ddinesig yn Echbetana ▼▼6:2 Safle presennol Hamadan, Iran. Tua 280 milltir i'r gogledd-ddwyrain o Babilon. Roedd y brenin yn byw yn Babilon yn y gaeaf, yn Shwshan yn y gwanwyn, ac yn Echbetana yn yr haf.

A dyma oedd wedi ei ysgrifennu arni: “Memorandwm: 3Yn ystod blwyddyn gyntaf Cyrus yn frenin, dyma fe'n rhoi gorchymyn am deml Dduw yn Jerwsalem: ‘Mae'r deml i gael ei hailadeiladu fel lle i gyflwyno aberthau. Dylai'r sylfaeni gael eu gosod, ac yna dylid ei hadeiladu yn 27 metr o uchder a 27 metr o led, 4gyda tair rhes o gerrig anferth, ac un rhes o goed. Bydd y trysorlys brenhinol yn talu am y gwaith. 5Yna hefyd, mae'r llestri aur ac arian wnaeth Nebwchadnesar eu cymryd i Babilon i gael eu rhoi yn ôl. Maen nhw i gael eu gosod ble maen nhw i fod, sef yn y deml yn Jerwsalem.’”6Felly dyma Dareius yn ateb Tatnai (llywodraethwr talaith Traws-Ewffrates), Shethar-bosnai, a swyddogion y dalaith: “Rhaid i chi gadw o'r ffordd, 7a gadael i'r gwaith ar deml Dduw fynd yn ei flaen. Gadewch i lywodraethwr ac arweinwyr Jwda fwrw ymlaen gyda'r gwaith o ailadeiladu teml Dduw lle mae hi i fod.
8Dw i hefyd yn gorchymyn eich bod chi i helpu arweinwyr yr Iddewon fel bod y gwaith yn mynd yn ei flaen yn ddi-rwystr. Mae'r costau i gyd i'w talu allan o drethi talaith Traws-Ewffrates, sy'n cael eu cadw yn y trysorlys brenhinol. 9Dylid gwneud yn siŵr bob dydd eu bod nhw'n cael popeth sydd ei angen – teirw, hyrddod, ac ŵyn yn offrymau i'w llosgi i Dduw y nefoedd, gwenith, halen, gwin ac olew olewydd – beth bynnag mae'r offeiriaid yn Jerwsalem yn gofyn amdano. 10Wedyn byddan nhw'n gallu offrymu arogldarth i Dduw y nefoedd, a gweddïo dros y brenin a'i feibion.
11A dw i'n rhybuddio y bydd unrhyw un sy'n newid y gorchymyn yma yn marw – bydd trawst pren yn cael ei gymryd o'i dŷ a bydd y person hwnnw yn cael ei rwymo i'r trawst a'i drywanu'n farw. Wedyn bydd ei dŷ yn cael ei chwalu am ei fod wedi gwneud y fath beth.
12Boed i'r Duw sy'n byw yn Jerwsalem ddinistrio unrhyw frenin neu wlad sy'n ceisio newid hyn er mwyn chwalu'r deml yno. Dw i, Dareius, wedi rhoi'r gorchymyn, a dw i'n disgwyl i'r cwbl gael ei gadw i'r llythyren!”

13Dyma Tatnai (llywodraethwr talaith Traws-Ewffrates), Shethar-bosnai, a'i cydweithwyr yn gwneud yn union beth roedd y brenin Dareius wedi ei orchymyn. 14Roedd arweinwyr yr Iddewon yn dal ati i adeiladu, ac yn llwyddiannus iawn, tra roedd Haggai a Sechareia fab Ido yn dal ati i broffwydo. A dyma nhw'n gorffen y gwaith adeiladu roedd Duw Israel wedi ei orchymyn, a hefyd Cyrus, Dareius ac Artaxerxes, brenhinoedd Persia. 15Dyma nhw'n gorffen adeiladu'r deml ar y trydydd o fis Adar ▼▼6:15 Adar Deuddegfed mis y calendr Hebreig, o tua canol Chwefror i ganol Mawrth.

16Trefnodd pobl Israel ddathliad i gysegru'r deml. Roedd pawb yno – yr offeiriaid, y Lefiaid, a pawb arall ddaeth yn ôl o'r gaethglud. 17Cafodd cant o deirw eu hoffrymu, dau gant o hyrddod, pedwar cant o ŵyn, ac un deg dau bwch gafr dros bechodau pobl Israel (un ar ran pob llwyth). 18Yna, fel mae sgrôl Moses yn dweud, dyma nhw'n rhannu'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid yn grwpiau, i fod yn gyfrifol am addoliad Duw yn Jerwsalem. ▼▼6:18 Dyma ddiwedd yr adran sydd yn yr iaith Aramaeg (Esra 4:8—6:18). f 20Roedd yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid wedi mynd trwy'r ddefod o buro eu hunain ac wedi eu cysegru. Felly dyma nhw'n lladd ŵyn y Pasg ar ran y bobl oedd wedi dod yn ôl o'r gaethglud, ac ar ran yr offeiriaid eraill a nhw eu hunain. 21Cafodd aberthau'r Pasg eu bwyta gan bobl Israel a phawb arall oedd wedi ymuno gyda nhw a troi cefn ar arferion paganaidd pobloedd eraill y wlad er mwyn dilyn yr Arglwydd, Duw Israel. 22A dyma nhw'n dathlu Gŵyl y Bara Croyw yn llawen am saith diwrnod. Roedden nhw mor hapus am fod yr Arglwydd wedi newid agwedd brenin Asyria tuag atyn nhw, a gwneud iddo eu helpu nhw gyda'r gwaith o adeiladu teml Dduw, Duw Israel.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
