1Dyma Dareius o Media, ▼▼9:1 Dareius o Media Mae ysgolheigion yn ansicr pwy yn union y cyfeirir ato.
mab Ahasferus, ▼▼9:1 Ahasferus Xerxes yn yr LXX. Mae'n bosib mai teitl brenhinol ydy'r enw Ahasferus yma.
yn cael ei wneud yn frenin ar Ymerodraeth Babilon. 2Yn ystod blwyddyn gyntaf ei deyrnasiad ▼▼9:2 blwyddyn gyntaf ei deyrnasiad tua 538 CC mae'n debyg. Byddai Daniel yn ddyn yn ei wyth degau cynnar erbyn hyn.
roeddwn i, Daniel, wedi bod yn darllen yr ysgrifau sanctaidd. Dyma fi'n gweld fod yr Arglwydd wedi dweud wrth y proffwyd Jeremeia y byddai Jerwsalem yn adfeilion am saith deg o flynyddoedd. ▼▼9:2 saith deg o flynyddoedd gw. Jeremeia 25:11-13; 29:10.
3Felly dyma fi'n troi at Dduw, y Meistr, a pledio arno mewn gweddi. Ro'n i'n ymprydio, yn gwisgo sachliain, ac wedi rhoi lludw ar fy mhen. 4Ro'n i'n gweddïo ar yr Arglwydd fy Nuw, a cyffesu, “O Feistr, plîs! Ti ydy'r Duw mawr a rhyfeddol! Ti'n Dduw ffyddlon sy'n cadw dy ymrwymiad i'r bobl sy'n dy garu ac sy'n ufudd i ti. 5Ond dŷn ni wedi pechu a gwneud beth sy'n ddrwg. Dŷn ni wedi gwrthryfela, ac wedi troi cefn ar dy orchmynion di a dy safonau di. 6Dŷn ni wedi gwrthod gwrando ar dy weision, y proffwydi. Roedden nhw wedi siarad ar dy ran di gyda'n brenhinoedd ni a'n harweinwyr, ein hynafiaid a'n pobl i gyd. 7“Feistr, rwyt ti wedi gwneud popeth yn iawn, ond does gynnon ni ddim ond lle i gywilyddio – pobl Jwda a Jerwsalem, pobl Israel i gyd – y bobl sydd ar chwâl drwy'r gwledydd lle rwyt ti wedi eu gyrru nhw am iddyn nhw dy fradychu di. 8O Arglwydd, cywilydd arnon ni! – cywilydd ar ein brenhinoedd a'n harweinwyr a'n hynafiaid i gyd. Dŷn ni wedi pechu yn dy erbyn di. 9Ond rwyt ti, ein Duw a'n Meistr ni, yn Dduw trugarog sy'n maddau, er ein bod ni wedi gwrthryfela yn dy erbyn. 10Wnaethon ni gymryd dim sylw ohonot ti pan oeddet ti'n ein dysgu ni drwy dy weision y proffwydi, e ac yn dweud wrthon ni sut ddylen ni fyw. 11“Mae pobl Israel i gyd wedi mynd yn rhy bell, ac wedi troi cefn arnat ti a diystyru beth roeddet ti'n ddweud. Felly mae'r felltith roeddet ti wedi ein rhybuddio ni amdani mor ddifrifol yng Nghyfraith Moses ▼▼9:11 mae'r felltith … nghyfraith Moses gw. Lefiticus 26:27-45; Deuteronomium 28:15-68
wedi digwydd, am ein bod ni wedi pechu yn dy erbyn di. 12Ti wedi gwneud beth roeddet ti wedi ei fygwth i ni a'n harweinwyr. Mae wedi bod yn drychineb ofnadwy. Does erioed y fath drwbwl wedi bod yn unman ag a ddigwyddodd yn Jerwsalem. 13Mae wedi digwydd yn union fel mae cyfraith Moses yn dweud. Ac eto dŷn ni ddim wedi gwneud pethau'n iawn gyda'r Arglwydd ein Duw drwy droi cefn ar ein pechod a cydnabod dy fod ti'n ffyddlon. 14Roedd yr Arglwydd yn gwybod beth oedd e'n wneud, a daeth â'r dinistr arnon ni. Mae popeth mae'r Arglwydd yn ei wneud yn iawn, a doedden ni ddim wedi gwrando arno. 15“Felly, o Dduw ein Meistr ni, sy'n enwog hyd heddiw am dy gryfder yn arwain dy bobl allan o wlad yr Aifft: g dŷn ni wedi pechu a gwneud drwg. 16O Feistr, rwyt ti bob amser yn gwneud beth sy'n iawn; plîs stopia fod yn wyllt gyda dy ddinas, Jerwsalem, a'r mynydd rwyt wedi ei gysegru. Am ein bod ni wedi pechu, a'n hynafiaid wedi gwneud cymaint o ddrwg, dydy Jerwsalem a dy bobl di yn ddim byd ond testun sbort i bawb o'u cwmpas nhw! 17Felly, o Dduw, gwrando ar dy was yn pledio a gweddïo arnat ti. Er dy fwyn dy hun wnei di edrych yn garedig ▼▼9:17 edrych yn garedig Hebraeg, “llewyrchu dy wyneb,” sef gwenu'n garedig. gw. Numeri 6:25; Salm 80:3,7,19

Dŷn ni ddim yn gweddïo fel yma am ein bod ni'n honni ein bod wedi gwneud beth sy'n iawn, ond am dy fod ti mor anhygoel o drugarog. 19O Feistr, gwrando! O Feistr, maddau! O Feistr, edrych a gwna rywbeth! O Dduw, paid oedi – er dy fwyn dy hun! Er mwyn dy ddinas, a'r bobl sy'n cael eu cysylltu â dy enw di.” Gabriel yn esbonio'r weledigaeth
20Roeddwn i'n dal ati i weddïo, a cyffesu fy mhechod a pechod fy mhobl Israel, ac yn pledio ar yr Arglwydd fy Nuw ar ran Jerwsalem a'r mynydd sydd wedi ei gysegru ganddo. ▼▼9:20 mynydd sydd wedi ei gysegru ganddo y bryn roedd y deml wedi ei hadeiladu arni.
21A tra roeddwn i'n gweddïo dyma Gabriel, yr un oedd yn y weledigaeth arall pan oeddwn i wedi fy llethu'n llwyr, yn dod ata i tua amser offrwm yr hwyr. 22Dyma fe'n esbonio i mi, “Dw i wedi dod yma er mwyn i ti ddeall pethau'n iawn. 23Cafodd yr ateb ei roi wrth i ti ddechrau gweddïo, a dw i wedi dod yma i'w rannu gyda ti. Rwyt ti'n sbesial iawn yng ngolwg Duw. Felly gwrando'n ofalus, i ti ddeall y weledigaeth. 24Mae saith deg cyfnod o saith ▼▼9:24 saith deg cyfnod o saith cf. Lefiticus 25:8. Roedd y rhifau 7 a 70 yn cynrychioli cyfnodau cyflawn, a 7 wedi ei luosi â 7 (sef 49) yn symbol o'r blynyddoedd cyn Blwyddyn y Rhyddhau.

I ddod â'r pechu i ben,
delio gyda drygioni
a gwneud pethau'n iawn unwaith ac am byth.
I gadarnhau y weledigaeth broffwydol,
ac eneinio y Lle Mwyaf Sanctaidd.
25Felly rhaid i ti ddeall: O'r amser pan gafodd y gorchymyn ei roi
i adfer ac ailadeiladu Jerwsalem

Bydd y diwedd yn dod fel llif.
Bydd rhyfela'n para i'r diwedd.
Mae dinistr wedi ei gyhoeddi.
27Bydd yn gwneud ymrwymiad gyda'r tyrfaoedd
am un cyfnod o saith.
Ond hanner ffordd drwy'r saith
bydd yn stopio'r aberthau a'r offrymau.

Gwnaeth Antiochus IV ddefodau Iddewig yn anghyfreithlon (Darllen y Gyfraith, cadw'r Saboth, ymarfer enwaediad a chyflwyno aberthau). How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
