1Yn ystod blwyddyn gyntaf teyrnasiad Belshasar, ▼▼7:1 blwyddyn gyntaf Belshasar tua 553 CC Roedd Daniel tua 67 oed ar y pryd.
brenin Babilon, cafodd Daniel freuddwyd – gweledigaeth tra roedd yn cysgu yn ei wely. Ysgrifennodd grynodeb o'r freuddwyd. 2“Yn y weledigaeth ges i y noson honno roedd storm fawr ar y môr, a gwyntoedd yn chwythu o bob cyfeiriad. 3A dyma bedwar creadur mawr yn codi allan o'r môr, pob un ohonyn nhw'n wahanol i'w gilydd. c 4“Roedd y cyntaf yn edrych fel llew, ond gydag adenydd fel eryr. Tra roeddwn i'n edrych, cafodd yr adenydd eu rhwygo oddi arno. Yna cafodd ei godi nes ei fod yn sefyll ar ei draed fel person dynol, a cafodd feddwl dynol. d 5“Wedyn dyma fi'n gweld ail greadur – un gwahanol. Roedd hwn yn edrych fel arth. Roedd yn symud o ochr i ochr, ac roedd ganddo dair asen yn ei geg, rhwng ei ddannedd. A dyma lais yn dweud wrtho, ‘Dos! Ymosod, a llarpio llawer o bobl!’ 6“Yna, wrth i mi edrych, dyma greadur arall yn dod i'r golwg. Roedd hwn yn edrych fel llewpard, ond roedd ganddo bedair o adenydd ar ei gefn, fel adenydd adar. , a chafodd awdurdod i lywodraethu. 7“Wedyn, yn y weledigaeth ges i y noson honno, dyma bedwerydd creadur yn dod i'r golwg. Roedd hwn yn un erchyll, dychrynllyd, ac yn ofnadwy o gryf. Roedd ganddo ddwy res o ddannedd haearn. Roedd yn llarpio a chnoi, a sathru beth bynnag oedd ar ôl dan draed. Roedd yn hollol wahanol i'r creaduriaid eraill, ac roedd ganddo ddeg corn. f 8“Tra roeddwn i'n edrych ar y cyrn, dyma gorn arall – un bach – yn codi rhyngddyn nhw. Dyma dri o'r cyrn eraill yn cael eu gwthio o'u gwraidd i wneud lle i'r un bach. Roedd gan y corn yma lygaid tebyg i lygaid person dynol, a cheg oedd yn brolio pethau mawr. g Gweledigaeth o'r Un Hynafol a'r un oedd fel person dynol
9“Wrth i mi syllu arno, cafodd gorseddau eu gosod i fyny, ha dyma'r Un Hynafol yn eistedd.
Roedd ei ddillad yn wyn fel eira,
a'i wallt fel gwlân oen.
Roedd ei orsedd yn fflamau tân,
a'i holwynion yn wenfflam.
10Roedd afon o dân yn llifo i
allan oddi wrtho.
Roedd miloedd ar filoedd yn ei wasanaethu,
a miliynau lawer yn sefyll o'i flaen.
Eisteddodd y llys, ac agorwyd y llyfrau.
11“Ro'n i'n dal i edrych wrth i'r corn bach ddal ati i frolio pethau mawr. Ac wrth i mi edrych dyma'r pedwerydd creadur yn cael ei ladd a'i daflu i'r tân. 12(Cafodd yr awdurdod i lywodraethu ei gymryd oddi ar y creaduriaid eraill, er eu bod wedi cael byw am gyfnod ar ôl hynny). ▼

13“Yn fy ngweledigaeth y noson honno, gwelais un oedd yn edrych fel person dynol ▼▼7:13 person dynol Aramaeg, “mab y dyn”. Roedd Iesu'n aml yn disgrifio'i hun fel ‛Mab y Dyn‛
yn dod ar gymylau'r awyr.
Aeth i fyny at yr Un Hynafol –
cafodd ei gymryd ato.
14A derbyniodd awdurdod, anrhydedd a grym. l
Roedd rhaid i bawb, o bob gwlad ac iaith ei anrhydeddu.
Mae ei awdurdod yn dragwyddol – fydd e byth yn dod i ben.
Fydd ei deyrnasiad byth yn cael ei dinistrio. m
Esbonio'r weledigaeth
15“Roeddwn i, Daniel, wedi cynhyrfu'r tu mewn. Roedd y gweledigaethau wedi fy nychryn i. 16Dyma fi'n mynd at un o'r rhai oedd yn sefyll yno, a gofyn beth oedd ystyr y cwbl. A dyma fe'n esbonio'r freuddwyd i mi. 17“‘Mae'r pedwar creadur mawr yn cynrychioli pedwar brenin daearol fydd yn teyrnasu. 18Ond yn y diwedd bydd pobl sanctaidd y Duw Goruchaf yn cael teyrnasu – byddan nhw'n teyrnasu am byth!’ n 19“Ond wedyn roeddwn i eisiau gwybod mwy am y pedwerydd creadur, yr un oedd yn hollol wahanol i'r lleill. Roedd hwnnw'n wirioneddol ddychrynllyd gyda'i ddannedd haearn a'i grafangau pres. Roedd yn llarpio a chnoi, a sathru dan draed bopeth oedd yn dal i sefyll. 20Roeddwn i hefyd eisiau gwybod beth oedd y deg corn ar ei ben, a'r corn bach gododd wedyn a gwneud i dri o'r lleill syrthio. Dyma'r corn oedd gyda llygaid, a cheg oedd yn brolio pethau mawr. Roedd y corn yma'n edrych yn gryfach na'r lleill. 21Roeddwn i'n gweld y corn yma yn brwydro yn erbyn pobl sanctaidd Duw ac yn eu trechu nhw. ▼▼7:21 corn bach … trechu nhw Antiochus IV Epiphanes mae'n debyg. Roedd yn teyrnasu o tua 175 i 164 CC ac yn hynod o greulon tuag at yr Iddewon.
p 22Dyna oedd yn digwydd hyd nes i'r Un Hynafol ddod a barnu o blaid pobl sanctaidd y Duw Goruchaf. A dyma nhw wedyn yn cael teyrnasu. q 23“Dyma ddwedodd wrtho i: ‘Mae'r pedwerydd creaduryn cynrychioli ymerodraeth
fydd yn wahanol i bob teyrnas arall.
Bydd yn llyncu'r byd i gyd,
ac yn sathru pawb a phopeth.
24Mae'r deg corn
yn cynrychioli deg brenin r
fydd yn teyrnasu ar yr ymerodraeth.
Ond wedyn bydd brenin arall yn codi –
brenin gwahanol i'r lleill.
Bydd yn bwrw i lawr dri brenin o'i flaen.
25Bydd yn herio'r Duw Goruchaf
ac yn cam-drin ei bobl sanctaidd.
Bydd yn ceisio newid yr amserau osodwyd yn y gyfraith,
a bydd pobl Dduw dan ei reolaeth
am gyfnod, dau gyfnod, a hanner cyfnod. s
26Yna wedi i'r llys eistedd
bydd ei awdurdod yn cael ei gymryd oddi arno,
a'i ddinistrio'n llwyr – am byth!
27Bydd awdurdod brenhinol a grym
pob teyrnas dan y nef
yn cael ei roi i bobl sanctaidd Duw.
Mae Duw yn teyrnasu'n dragwyddol,
a bydd pob awdurdod arall yn ei wasanaethu
ac yn ufudd iddo.’
28“A dyna ddiwedd y weledigaeth. Roeddwn i, Daniel, wedi dychryn. Ro'n i'n welw. Ond cedwais y cwbl i mi fy hun.”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
