Apelio i'r Ymerawdwr pan oedd ar brawf o flaen Ffestus
1Dridiau ar ôl iddo gyrraedd y dalaith, aeth Ffestus i Jerwsalem. 2A dyma'r prif offeiriaid a'r arweinwyr Iddewig yn mynd ato, i ddweud wrtho beth oedd y cyhuddiadau oedd ganddyn nhw yn erbyn Paul. 3Dyma nhw'n gofyn iddo anfon Paul yn ôl i Jerwsalem fel ffafr iddyn nhw. (Eu bwriad oedd ymosod arno a'i ladd pan oedd ar ei ffordd). 4Ond dyma Ffestus yn ateb: “Mae Paul yn y ddalfa yn Cesarea, a dw i'n mynd yn ôl yno'n fuan. 5Caiff rhai o'ch arweinwyr chi fynd gyda mi a'i gyhuddo yno, os ydy e wedi gwneud rhywbeth o'i le.” 6Buodd Ffestus yn Jerwsalem am ryw wyth i ddeg diwrnod, yna aeth yn ôl i Cesarea. Yna'r diwrnod wedyn cafodd Paul ei alw o flaen y llys. 7Yn y llys dyma'r Iddewon o Jerwsalem yn casglu o'i gwmpas, a dwyn nifer o gyhuddiadau difrifol yn ei erbyn, er bod dim modd profi dim un ohonyn nhw. 8Wedyn dyma Paul yn cyflwyno ei amddiffyniad: “Dw i ddim wedi torri'r Gyfraith Iddewig na gwneud dim yn erbyn y Deml yn Jerwsalem na'r llywodraeth Rufeinig chwaith.” 9Ond gan fod Ffestus yn awyddus i wneud ffafr i'r Iddewon, gofynnodd i Paul, “Wyt ti'n barod i fynd i Jerwsalem i sefyll dy brawf o'm blaen i yno?” 10Atebodd Paul: “Dw i yma'n sefyll o flaen llys Cesar, a dyna lle dylid gwrando'r achos. Dych chi'n gwybod yn iawn fy mod i heb wneud dim yn erbyn yr Iddewon. 11Os ydw i wedi gwneud rhywbeth sy'n haeddu'r gosb eithaf, dw i'n fodlon marw. Ond, os nad ydy'r cyhuddiadau yma'n wir, does gan neb hawl i'm rhoi fi yn eu dwylo nhw. Felly dw i'n cyflwyno apêl i Gesar!” 12Ar ôl i Ffestus drafod y mater gyda'i gynghorwyr, dyma fe'n ateb: “Rwyt ti wedi cyflwyno apêl i Gesar. Cei dy anfon at Cesar!”Ffestus yn trafod Paul gydag Agripa
13Ychydig ddyddiau wedyn daeth y Brenin Herod Agripa i Cesarea gyda'i chwaer Bernice, i ddymuno'n dda i Ffestus ar ei apwyntiad yn Llywodraethwr. 14Buon nhw yno am rai dyddiau, a buodd Ffestus yn trafod achos Paul gyda'r brenin. “Mae yma ddyn sydd wedi ei adael gan Ffelics yn garcharor,” meddai. 15“Y prif offeiriaid a'r arweinwyr Iddewig eraill ddwedodd wrtho i amdano pan o'n i yn Jerwsalem, a gofyn i mi ei ddedfrydu. 16“Esboniais bod cyfraith Rhufain ddim yn dedfrydu unrhyw un heb achos teg, a chyfle i'r person sy'n cael ei gyhuddo amddiffyn ei hun. 17Felly pan ddaethon nhw yma dyma fi'n trefnu i'r llys eistedd y diwrnod wedyn, a gwrando'r achos yn erbyn y dyn. 18Pan gododd yr erlyniad i gyflwyno'r achos yn ei erbyn, wnaethon nhw mo'i gyhuddo o unrhyw drosedd roeddwn i'n ei disgwyl. 19Yn lle hynny roedd y ddadl i gyd am ryw fanion yn eu crefydd nhw, ac am ryw ddyn o'r enw Iesu oedd wedi marw – ond roedd Paul yn mynnu ei fod yn fyw. 20Doedd gen i ddim syniad sut i farnu ar faterion o'r fath; felly gofynnais iddo a fyddai'n barod i fynd i Jerwsalem i sefyll ei brawf yno. 21Ond dyma Paul yn gwneud apêl i'r achos gael ei ohirio a'i drosglwyddo i uchel-lys o flaen ei fawrhydi yr Ymerawdwr. Felly dw i wedi gorchymyn iddo gael ei gadw yn y ddalfa nes daw cyfle i'w anfon at Cesar.” 22Dyma Agripa'n dweud wrth Ffestus, “Baswn i'n hoffi clywed y dyn yma fy hun.” A dyma Ffestus yn ateb, “Iawn! Cei di ei glywed fory!”Paul yn ymddangos o flaen Agripa
23Felly, y diwrnod wedyn dyma'r Brenin Herod Agripa a Bernice yn cyrraedd y neuadd lle roedd y gwrandawiad i'w gynnal. Roedd yn achlysur crand iawn, gyda penaethiaid y fyddin a phobl bwysig y ddinas i gyd yno. Dyma Ffestus yn gorchymyn dod â Paul i mewn. 24Yna meddai Ffestus, “Y Brenin Agripa, a phawb arall sydd yma heddiw. Mae'r Iddewon yma ac yn Jerwsalem wedi gwneud cais am y dyn yma – maen nhw wedi gwneud twrw ofnadwy fod rhaid iddo farw. 25Dw i ddim yn credu ei fod wedi gwneud dim i haeddu cael ei ddienyddio, ond gan ei fod wedi gwneud apêl i'r Ymerawdwr dw i'n bwriadu ei anfon i Rufain. 26Ond does gen i ddim byd pendant i'w ddweud wrth ei fawrhydi amdano. Felly dw i wedi ei alw o'ch blaen chi i gyd, ac yn arbennig o'ch blaen chi, frenin Agripa. Dw i'n gobeithio y bydd gen i rywbeth i'w ysgrifennu amdano ar ôl yr ymholiad swyddogol yma. 27Mae'n gwbl afresymol i mi ei anfon ymlaen heb ddweud yn glir beth ydy'r cyhuddiadau yn ei erbyn!”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
