Paul yn sefyll ei brawf o flaen Ffelics
1Bum diwrnod wedyn daeth Ananias yr archoffeiriad i Cesarea gyda rhai o'r arweinwyr Iddewig, a chyfreithiwr o'r enw Tertwlus. Dyma nhw'n cyflwyno'r cyhuddiadau yn erbyn Paul i'r llywodraethwr. 2Yna cafodd Paul ei alw i mewn, a dyma Tertwlus yn cyflwyno achos yr erlyniad i Ffelics: “Eich Anrhydedd. Dŷn ni'r Iddewon wedi mwynhau cyfnod hir o heddwch dan eich llywodraeth, ac mae gwelliannau mawr wedi digwydd yn y wlad o ganlyniad i'ch craffter gwleidyddol chi, syr. 3Mae pobl ym mhobman yn cydnabod hyn, a dŷn ni'n hynod ddiolchgar i chi. 4Ond heb gymryd gormod o'ch amser chi, carwn ofyn i chi fod mor garedig â gwrando arnon ni'n fyr iawn. 5“Mae'r dyn yma o'ch blaen chi yn un o arweinwyr sect y Nasareaid. Mae wedi bod yn achosi trwbwl a chreu cynnwrf ymhlith yr Iddewon ar hyd a lled y byd. 6Ceisiodd halogi'r deml yn Jerwsalem hyd yn oed, a dyna pam wnaethon ni ei arestio. ▼▼24:6 ei arestio: Mae rhai llawysgrifau yn ychwanegu adn.6b-8a: Roedden ni'n mynd i'w farnu ar sail ein Cyfraith ni, 7 ond dyma Lysias, y capten, yn dod ac yn defnyddio grym i'w gymryd oddi arnon ni. 8 Yna dwedodd fod rhaid i ni ddod â'n cyhuddiadau o'ch blaen chi.
8Cewch ei groesholi eich hunan, i weld mai dyna'n union ydy'r sefyllfa.” 9A dyma'r arweinwyr Iddewig eraill yn dechrau ymuno i mewn, a mynnu mai dyna'r gwir. 10Dyma'r llywodraethwr yn troi at Paul a rhoi arwydd mai ei dro e oedd hi i siarad. Felly dyma Paul yn ateb: “Syr, o wybod eich bod chi wedi bod yn farnwr ar y genedl yma ers blynyddoedd lawer, dw i'n falch iawn mai o'ch blaen chi dw i'n amddiffyn fy hun. 11Mae'n ddigon hawdd i chi gadarnhau'r ffaith fod llai na deuddeg diwrnod wedi mynd heibio ers i mi gyrraedd Jerwsalem a mynd i addoli yn y deml. 12Doeddwn i ddim hyd yn oed yn dadlau gydag unrhyw un, heb sôn am achosi cynnwrf yn y deml nac mewn unrhyw synagog, nac yn unman arall yn y ddinas. 13A dydyn nhw ddim yn gallu profi'r cyhuddiadau yma yn fy erbyn i chwaith! 14Ond, dw i yn cyfaddef i chi mod i'n addoli Duw ein cyndeidiau ni fel un o ddilynwyr yr hyn maen nhw'n ei alw'n sect, sef y Ffordd Gristnogol. Dw i'n credu popeth sydd yn y Gyfraith Iddewig ac yn ysgrifau'r Proffwydi. 15Dw i'n credu bod Duw yn mynd i ddod â phobl sy'n gyfiawn yn ei olwg a phobl ddrwg yn ôl yn fyw. Mae'r dynion eraill yma'n credu'r un peth! 16Felly dw i'n gwneud fy ngorau i gadw cydwybod glir mewn perthynas â Duw ac yn y ffordd dw i'n trin pobl eraill. 17“Ar ôl bod i ffwrdd ers rhai blynyddoedd, des i Jerwsalem gydag arian i helpu'r tlodion ac i gyflwyno offrwm i Dduw. 18Dyna roeddwn i'n ei wneud yn y deml – roeddwn i newydd fod trwy'r ddefod o buredigaeth. Doedd dim tyrfa gyda mi, a doeddwn i ddim yn creu twrw o fath yn y byd. 19Ond roedd yno Iddewon o dalaith Asia, a nhw ddylai fod yma i ddwyn cyhuddiad yn fy erbyn, os oes ganddyn nhw unrhyw reswm i wneud hynny! 20Neu gadewch i'r dynion yma ddweud yn glir pa drosedd mae'r Sanhedrin wedi fy nghael i'n euog ohoni. 21Ai'r gosodiad yma wnes i pan o'n i'n sefyll o'u blaen nhw ydy'r broblem: ‘Dw i ar brawf o'ch blaen chi am gredu fod y meirw'n mynd i ddod yn ôl yn fyw’?” 22Roedd Ffelics yn deall beth oedd y Ffordd Gristnogol, a dyma fe'n gohirio'r achos. “Gwna i benderfyniad yn yr achos yma ar ôl i'r capten Lysias ddod yma” 23Rhoddodd orchymyn fod Paul i gael ei gadw yn y ddalfa, ond ei fod i gael peth rhyddid, a bod ei ffrindiau yn rhydd i ymweld a gofalu am ei anghenion. 24Ychydig ddyddiau wedyn dyma Ffelics yn anfon am Paul. Roedd ei wraig Drwsila (oedd yn Iddewes) gydag e, a dyma nhw'n rhoi cyfle i Paul ddweud wrthyn nhw am y gred mai Iesu oedd y Meseia. 25Wrth iddo sôn am fyw yn iawn yng ngolwg Duw, am ddisgyblu'r hunan, a'r ffaith fod Duw yn mynd i farnu, daeth ofn ar Ffelics. “Dyna ddigon am y tro!” meddai, “Cei di fynd nawr. Anfona i amdanat ti eto pan fydd cyfle.” 26Byddai'n anfon am Paul yn aml iawn i siarad gydag e, ond un rheswm am hynny oedd ei fod yn rhyw obeithio y byddai Paul yn cynnig arian iddo i'w ryddhau. 27Aeth dros ddwy flynedd heibio, a dyma Porcius Ffestws yn olynu Ffelics fel llywodraethwr. Ond gadawodd Ffelics Paul yn y carchar am ei fod eisiau ennill ffafr yr arweinwyr Iddewig.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
