1“Frodyr ac arweinwyr parchus ein cenedl, ga i ddweud gair i amddiffyn fy hun?” 2Pan glywon nhw Paul yn siarad Hebraeg dyma nhw'n mynd yn hollol dawel. Yna meddai Paul wrthyn nhw, 3“Iddew ydw i, wedi fy ngeni yn Tarsus yn Cilicia, ond ces i fy magu yma yn Jerwsalem. Bues i'n astudio Cyfraith ein hynafiaid yn fanwl dan yr athro Gamaliel. Roeddwn i'n frwd iawn dros bethau Duw, yn union fel dych chi yma heddiw. 4Bues i'n erlid y rhai oedd yn dilyn y Ffordd Gristnogol, ac yn arestio dynion a merched, a'u taflu nhw i'r carchar. 5Gall yr archoffeiriad ac aelodau Cyngor y Sanhedrin dystio i'r ffaith fod hyn i gyd yn wir, am mai nhw roddodd lythyrau i mi i'w cyflwyno i arweinwyr ein pobl yn Damascus. Roeddwn i'n mynd yno i arestio'r Cristnogion a dod â nhw yn ôl yn gaeth i Jerwsalem i'w cosbi nhw.Hanes ei dröedigaeth
(Actau 9:1-19; 26:12-18) 6“Roedd hi tua chanol dydd, ac roeddwn i bron â chyrraedd Damascus, ac yn sydyn dyma rhyw olau llachar o'r nefoedd yn fflachio o'm cwmpas i. 7Syrthiais ar lawr, a chlywed llais yn dweud wrtho i, ‘Saul! Saul! Pam rwyt ti'n fy erlid i?’ 8“Gofynnais, ‘Pwy wyt ti, Arglwydd?’ “‘Iesu o Nasareth ydw i,’ meddai'r llais, ‘sef yr un rwyt ti'n ei erlid.’ 9Roedd y rhai oedd gyda mi yn gweld y golau, ond ddim yn deall y llais oedd yn siarad â mi. 10“Gofynnais iddo, ‘Beth wna i, Arglwydd?’ A dyma'r Arglwydd yn ateb, ‘Cod ar dy draed, a dos i Damascus. Yno cei di wybod popeth rwyt ti i fod i'w wneud.’ 11Roeddwn i wedi cael fy nallu gan y golau disglair, ac roedd rhaid i mi gael fy arwain gerfydd fy llaw i Damascus. 12“Daeth dyn o'r enw Ananias i ngweld i. Dyn duwiol iawn, yn cadw Cyfraith Moses yn ofalus ac yn ddyn roedd yr Iddewon yno yn ei barchu'n fawr. 13Safodd wrth fy ymyl a dweud. ‘Saul, frawd. Derbyn dy olwg yn ôl!’ Ac o'r eiliad honno roeddwn yn gallu gweld eto. 14“Wedyn dwedodd Ananias wrtho i: ‘Mae Duw ein cyndeidiau ni wedi dy ddewis di i wybod beth mae e eisiau, i weld Iesu, yr Un Cyfiawn, a chlywed beth sydd ganddo i'w ddweud. 15Byddi di'n mynd i ddweud wrth bawb beth rwyt ti wedi ei weld a'i glywed. 16Felly, pam ddylet ti oedi? Cod ar dy draed i ti gael dy fedyddio a golchi dy bechodau i ffwrdd wrth alw arno i dy achub di.’ 17“Pan ddes i yn ôl i Jerwsalem roeddwn i'n gweddïo yn y Deml pan ges i weledigaeth – 18yr Arglwydd yn siarad â mi, ac yn dweud ‘Brysia! Rhaid i ti adael Jerwsalem ar unwaith, achos wnân nhw ddim credu beth fyddi di'n ei ddweud amdana i.’ 19“‘Ond Arglwydd,’ meddwn innau, ‘mae'r bobl yma'n gwybod yn iawn mod i wedi mynd o un synagog i'r llall yn carcharu'r bobl sy'n credu ynot ti, ac yn eu curo nhw. 20Pan gafodd Steffan ei ladd am ei fod yn siarad amdanat ti, roeddwn i yno'n cefnogi beth oedd yn digwydd! Fi oedd yn gofalu am fentyll y rhai oedd yn ei ladd.’ 21“Ond dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho i, ‘Dos; dw i'n mynd i dy anfon di'n bell oddi yma at bobl o genhedloedd eraill.’”Paul y dinesydd Rhufeinig
22Roedd y dyrfa wedi gwrando arno nes iddo ddweud hynny. Ond yna dyma nhw'n dechrau gweiddi'n uchel, “Rhaid iddo gael ei ladd! Dydy e ddim yn haeddu byw!” 23Dyma nhw'n dechrau gweiddi eto, tynnu eu mentyll i ffwrdd a thaflu llwch i'r awyr. 24Felly dyma'r capten yn gorchymyn mynd â Paul i mewn i'r barics i gael ei groesholi gyda'r chwip, er mwyn ceisio darganfod pam roedd y bobl yn gweiddi arno fel hyn. 25Wrth iddyn nhw rwymo ei freichiau ar led i'w chwipio, dyma Paul yn gofyn i'r swyddog milwrol oedd yn gyfrifol, “Oes gynnoch chi hawl i chwipio dinesydd Rhufeinig heb ei gael yn euog mewn llys barn?” 26Pan glywodd y swyddog hynny, aeth at y capten. “Syr, beth dych chi'n ei wneud?” meddai wrtho. “Mae'r dyn yn ddinesydd Rhufeinig.” 27Felly dyma'r capten yn mynd at Paul a gofyn iddo, “Wyt ti'n ddinesydd Rhufeinig?” “Ydw,” meddai Paul. 28“Roedd rhaid i mi dalu arian mawr i gael bod yn ddinesydd,” meddai'r capten. “Ces i fy ngeni'n ddinesydd,” meddai Paul. 29Dyma'r rhai oedd yn mynd i'w groesholi yn camu nôl yn syth. Ac roedd y capten ei hun wedi dychryn pan sylweddolodd ei fod wedi rhwymo dinesydd Rhufeinig â chadwyni.Paul o flaen y Sanhedrin
30Y diwrnod wedyn roedd y capten eisiau deall yn union beth oedd cyhuddiad yr Iddewon yn erbyn Paul. Dyma fe'n gollwng Paul yn rhydd o'i gadwyni, a gorchymyn i'r prif offeiriaid a'r Sanhedrin ddod at ei gilydd. Wedyn daeth â Paul, a'i osod i sefyll o'u blaenau.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
