Pedr yn dianc yn wyrthiol o'r carchar
1Tua'r adeg yna dyma'r Brenin Herod Agripa yn cam-drin rhai o'r bobl oedd yn perthyn i'r eglwys. 2Cafodd Iago (sef brawd Ioan) ei ddienyddio ganddo – trwy ei ladd gyda'r cleddyf. 3Yna pan welodd fod hyn yn plesio'r arweinwyr Iddewig ▼▼12:3 arweinwyr Iddewig: Groeg, “Yr Iddewon”. Mae'n debyg fod y term yma yn cyfeirio at yr awdurdodau yn Jerwsalem.
, dyma fe'n arestio Pedr hefyd. (Roedd hyn yn ystod Gŵyl y Bara Croyw.) 4Cafodd Pedr ei roi yn y carchar. Trefnwyd fod pedwar milwr ar wyliadwriaeth bob sifft. Bwriad Herod oedd dwyn achos cyhoeddus yn erbyn Pedr ar ôl y Pasg. 5Tra roedd Pedr yn y carchar roedd yr eglwys yn gweddïo'n daer ar Dduw drosto. 6Y noson cyn yr achos llys, roedd Pedr yn cysgu. Roedd wedi ei gadwyno i ddau filwr – un bob ochr iddo, a'r lleill yn gwarchod y fynedfa. 7Yn sydyn roedd angel yno, a golau yn disgleirio drwy'r gell. Rhoddodd bwniad i Pedr yn ei ochr i'w ddeffro. “Brysia!” meddai, “Cod ar dy draed!”, a dyma'r cadwyni'n disgyn oddi ar freichiau Pedr. 8Wedyn dyma'r angel yn dweud wrtho, “Rho dy ddillad amdanat a gwisga dy sandalau.” Ac ar ôl i Pedr wneud hynny, dyma'r angel yn dweud, “Tafla dy glogyn amdanat a dilyn fi.” 9Felly dyma Pedr yn ei ddilyn allan o'r gell – ond heb wybod os oedd y peth yn digwydd go iawn neu ai dim ond breuddwyd oedd y cwbl! 10Dyma nhw'n mynd heibio'r gwarchodwr cyntaf, a'r ail, a chyrraedd y giât haearn oedd yn mynd allan i'r ddinas. Agorodd honno ohoni ei hun! Wedi mynd trwyddi a cherdded i lawr y stryd dyma'r angel yn sydyn yn diflannu a gadael Pedr ar ei ben ei hun. 11Dyna pryd daeth ato'i hun. “Mae wedi digwydd go iawn! – mae'r Arglwydd wedi anfon ei angel i'm hachub i o afael Herod, fel bod yr hyn roedd yr Iddewon yn ei obeithio ddim yn digwydd i mi.” 12Pan sylweddolodd hyn, aeth i gartref Mair, mam Ioan Marc. Roedd criw o bobl wedi dod at ei gilydd i weddïo yno. 13Dyma Pedr yn curo'r drws allanol, ac aeth morwyn o'r enw Rhoda i ateb y drws. 14Pan wnaeth hi nabod llais Pedr roedd hi mor llawen nes iddi redeg yn ôl i mewn i'r tŷ heb agor y drws! “Mae Pedr wrth y drws!” meddai hi wrth bawb. 15“Ti'n drysu!” medden nhw. Ond roedd Rhoda yn dal i fynnu fod y peth yn wir. “Mae'n rhaid mai ei angel sydd yna!” medden nhw wedyn. 16Roedd Pedr yn dal ati i guro'r drws, a chawson nhw'r sioc ryfedda pan agoron nhw'r drws a'i weld. 17Dyma Pedr yn rhoi arwydd iddyn nhw dawelu, ac esboniodd iddyn nhw sut roedd yr Arglwydd wedi ei ryddhau o'r carchar. “Ewch i ddweud beth sydd wedi digwydd wrth Iago a'r credinwyr eraill,” meddai, ac wedyn aeth i ffwrdd i rywle arall. 18Y bore wedyn roedd cynnwrf anhygoel ymhlith y milwyr ynglŷn â beth oedd wedi digwydd i Pedr. 19Dyma Herod yn gorchymyn chwilio amdano ym mhobman ond wnaethon nhw ddim llwyddo i ddod o hyd iddo. Ar ôl croesholi y milwyr oedd wedi bod yn gwarchod Pedr, dyma fe'n gorchymyn iddyn nhw gael eu dienyddio. Marwolaeth Herod
Ar ôl hyn gadawodd Herod Jwdea, a mynd i aros yn Cesarea am ychydig. 20Roedd gwrthdaro ffyrnig wedi bod rhyngddo ag awdurdodau Tyrus a Sidon. Ond dyma nhw'n dod at ei gilydd i ofyn am gael cyfarfod gydag e. Roedd rhaid iddyn nhw sicrhau heddwch, am eu bod nhw'n dibynnu ar wlad Herod i werthu bwyd iddyn nhw. Ac roedden nhw wedi perswadio Blastus i'w helpu nhw. (Blastus oedd swyddog personol y brenin, ac roedd y brenin yn ymddiried yn llwyr ynddo.) 21Ar y diwrnod mawr, eisteddodd Herod ar ei orsedd yn gwisgo'i holl regalia, ac annerch y bobl. 22Dyma'r bobl yn dechrau gweiddi, “Duw ydy hwn, nid dyn sy'n siarad!” 23A'r eiliad honno dyma angel Duw yn ei daro'n wael, am iddo adael i'r bobl ei addoli fel petai e'n dduw. Cafodd ei fwyta gan lyngyr a buodd farw. 24Ond roedd neges Duw yn dal i fynd ar led, a mwy a mwy o bobl yn dod i gredu. 25Ar ôl i Barnabas a Saul fynd â'r rhodd i Jerwsalem, dyma nhw'n mynd yn ôl i Antiochia, a mynd â Ioan Marc gyda nhw.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
