Dafydd yn caniatáu i Absalom ddod yn ôl i Jerwsalem
1Roedd Joab (mab Serwia) wedi sylwi fod Dafydd ddim yn gallu stopio meddwl am Absalom. 2Felly dyma fe'n anfon rhywun i nôl gwraig ddoeth oedd yn byw yn Tecoa ▼▼14:2 Tecoa Pentref oedd rhyw ddeuddeg milltir i'r de-ddwyrain o Jerwsalem
. Meddai wrthi, “Dw i eisiau i ti esgus dy fod yn galaru. Rho ddillad galar amdanat, peidio gwisgo colur, a gwneud i ti dy hun edrych fel rhywun sydd wedi bod yn galaru am amser hir iawn. 3Yna dos at y brenin a dweud fel yma: …” (A dyma Joab yn dweud wrthi yn union beth i'w ddweud.) 4Felly dyma'r wraig o Tecoa yn mynd at y brenin. Aeth ar ei gliniau ac ymgrymu o'i flaen gyda'i hwyneb ar lawr. “Plîs helpa fi, o frenin.” 5“Beth sy'n bod?” meddai Dafydd. A dyma hi'n ateb, “Gwraig weddw ydw i. Mae'r gŵr wedi marw. 6Roedd gen i ddau fab, a dyma nhw'n dechrau ymladd allan yng nghefn gwlad. Doedd yna neb o gwmpas i'w gwahanu, a dyma un yn taro'r llall a'i ladd. 7A nawr mae aelodau'r clan i gyd wedi troi yn fy erbyn i, ac yn mynnu, ‘Rho dy fab i ni. Rhaid iddo farw am lofruddio ei frawd.’ b Ond fe ydy'r etifedd. Os gwnân nhw hynny, bydd y fflam olaf sydd gen i wedi diffodd! Fydd yna neb ar ôl i gadw enw'r gŵr yn fyw.” 8Dyma'r brenin Dafydd yn dweud wrth y wraig, “Dos adre. Gwna i setlo'r achos i ti.” 9A dyma'r wraig yn dweud wrth y brenin, “Os bydd unrhyw broblem, arna i a'm teulu mae'r bai. Does dim bai o gwbl ar fy meistr y brenin a'i orsedd.” 10Ond dyma'r brenin yn ateb, “Os bydd unrhyw un yn cwestiynu'r peth, gwna i ddelio gydag e. Fydd e ddim dy blagio di byth eto!” 11A dyma hi'n gofyn, “Plîs wnei di addo i mi o flaen yr Arglwydd dy Dduw, na fydd y perthynas agosaf yn mynnu dial ar fy mab a tywallt mwy o waed eto?” “Ar fy llw,” meddai'r brenin, “fydd neb yn cyffwrdd blewyn o wallt ei ben!” 12Yna dyma'r wraig yn gofyn, “Plîs ga i ddweud un peth arall wrthot ti, syr?” “Ie, beth?” meddai'r brenin. 13A dyma hi'n dweud, “Pam wyt ti wedi gwneud yr un math o beth yn erbyn pobl Dduw? Wrth roi'r dyfarniad yna i mi rwyt ti'n barnu dy hun yn euog. Dwyt ti ddim wedi gadael i dy fab sy'n alltud ddod yn ôl adre. 14Rhaid i ni i gyd farw rywbryd. Dŷn ni fel dŵr yn cael ei dywallt ar y tir a neb yn gallu ei gasglu'n ôl. Dydy Duw ddim yn cymryd bywyd rhywun cyn pryd; ond mae e yn trefnu ffordd i ddod â'r un sydd wedi ei alltudio yn ôl adre. c 15Nawr, dw i wedi dod i siarad â'r brenin, fy meistr, am fod pobl yn codi ofn arna i. Ro'n i'n meddwl, ‘Os gwna i siarad â'r brenin falle y bydd e'n gwneud beth dw i'n ei ofyn. 16Bydd y brenin yn siŵr o wrando. Bydd e'n fy achub i oddi wrth yr un sydd am fy ngyrru i a'm mab o'r etifeddiaeth roddodd Duw i ni.’ 17Ro'n i'n meddwl, ‘Bydd ateb y brenin yn dod â chysur i mi. Achos mae'r brenin fel angel Duw, yn gwybod y gwahaniaeth rhwng da a drwg.’ Boed i'r Arglwydd dy Dduw fod gyda ti!” 18A dyma'r brenin Dafydd yn ateb, “Dw i eisiau gwybod un peth. Paid cuddio dim oddi wrtho i.” “Gofyn, syr,” meddai'r wraig. 19“Ai Joab sydd wedi dy gael i wneud hyn?” meddai. A dyma'r wraig yn ateb, “Ie, alla i ddim gwadu'r peth syr. Joab drefnodd y cwbl, a dweud wrtho i beth i'w ddweud. 20Roedd e eisiau i ti edrych ar y sefyllfa o safbwynt gwahanol. Ond rwyt ti, syr, fel angel Dduw. Ti'n deall popeth sy'n digwydd yn y wlad.” 21Yna dyma'r brenin yn galw Joab, “O'r gorau! Dyna wna i. Dos i nôl y bachgen Absalom.” 22Dyma Joab yn ymgrymu â'i wyneb ar lawr o flaen y brenin, a diolch iddo. Meddai wrtho, “Heddiw dw i'n gwybod fod gen ti ffydd yno i, dy was. Ti wedi caniatáu fy nghais i.” 23Felly dyma Joab yn mynd i lawr i Geshwr a dod ag Absalom yn ôl i Jerwsalem. 24Ond roedd y brenin wedi dweud, “Rhaid iddo fynd i'w dŷ ei hun. Gaiff e ddim fy ngweld i.” Felly dyma Absalom yn mynd i'w dŷ ei hun, heb gael gweld y brenin. Absalom yn cael gweld ei dad Dafydd eto
25Roedd Absalom yn cael ei ystyried y dyn mwyaf golygus yn Israel. Dyn cryf, iach, gyda'r corff perffaith. 26Roedd yn arfer torri ei wallt yn fyr bob blwyddyn am fod ei wallt wedi tyfu mor drwchus. Ar ôl torri ei wallt byddai'n ei bwyso, ac roedd dros ddau gilogram (yn ôl y safon brenhinol). 27Roedd gan Absalom dri mab ac un ferch. Enw'r ferch oedd Tamar, ac roedd hi'n ferch arbennig o hardd. 28Roedd Absalom wedi bod yn Jerwsalem am ddwy flynedd heb gael gweld y brenin, 29a dyma fe'n anfon neges at Joab i geisio'i gael i drefnu iddo gael gweld y brenin. Ond roedd Joab yn gwrthod mynd ato. Dyma fe'n anfon amdano eto, ond roedd Joab yn dal i wrthod mynd. 30Felly dyma Absalom yn dweud wrth ei weision, “Mae gan Joab gae o haidd nesa at fy nhir i. Ewch i'w roi ar dân.” A dyma weision Absalom yn gwneud hynny. 31Aeth Joab ar ei union i dŷ Absalom. “Pam mae dy weision di wedi rhoi fy nghae i ar dân?” meddai. 32A dyma Absalom yn ateb, “Edrych, gwnes i anfon neges atat ti am fy mod eisiau i ti fynd at y brenin, a gofyn iddo pam wnaeth e ddod â fi yn ôl o Geshwr os nad oedd e eisiau fy ngweld i. Byddai wedi bod yn well i mi aros yno! Nawr, dw i eisiau gweld y brenin. Os ydw i wedi gwneud rhywbeth o'i le, gad iddo fy lladd i!” 33A dyma Joab yn mynd at y brenin a dweud hynny wrtho. Felly dyma'r brenin yn galw am Absalom, a dyma Absalom yn dod ato ac ymgrymu o'i flaen â'i wyneb ar lawr. A dyma'r brenin yn ei gyfarch gyda chusan.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
