Amaseia, brenin Jwda
(2 Cronicl 25:1-28) 1Dyma Amaseia, mab Joas, yn dod yn frenin ar Jwda yn ail flwyddyn Jehoas fab Jehoachas fel brenin Israel. 2Roedd yn ddau ddeg pum mlwydd oed pan ddaeth yn frenin, a bu'n frenin am ddau ddeg naw o flynyddoedd. Enw ei fam oedd Iehoadan, ac roedd hi'n dod o Jerwsalem. 3Roedd Amaseia yn gwneud beth oedd yn plesio'r Arglwydd, er, ddim cystal â'r brenin Dafydd, ei hynafiad. Roedd yn union yr un fath â'i dad Joas. 4Wnaeth yntau ddim cael gwared â'r allorau lleol, ac roedd y bobl yn dal i aberthu anifeiliaid a llosgi arogldarth arnyn nhw. 5Ar ôl gwneud yn siŵr fod ei afael ar y deyrnas yn ddiogel, dyma fe'n dienyddio'r swyddogion hynny oedd wedi llofruddio ei dad, y brenin. 6Ond wnaeth e ddim lladd plant y llofruddion, am fod sgrôl Cyfraith Moses yn dweud fod yr Arglwydd wedi gorchymyn: “Ddylai rhieni ddim cael eu lladd am droseddau eu plant, na'r plant am droseddau eu rhieni. Dim ond y troseddwr ei hun ddylai farw.” ▼▼14:6 Deuteronomium 24:16
7Lladdodd ddeg mil o filwyr Edom yn Nyffryn yr Halen. Ennillodd ddinas Sela mewn brwydr, a newid ei henw i Iocteël; a dyna'r enw arni hyd heddiw. 8Yna dyma Amaseia'n anfon negeswyr at Jehoas, brenin Israel (mab Jehoachas ac ŵyr Jehw). Y neges oedd, “Tyrd, gad i ni wynebu'n gilydd mewn brwydr.” 9Dyma Jehoas, brenin Israel, yn anfon neges yn ôl at Amaseia yn dweud: “Un tro yn Libanus dyma ddraenen fach yn afon neges at goeden gedrwydd fawr i ddweud, ‘Rho dy ferch yn wraig i fy mab i.’ Ond dyma anifail gwyllt yn dod heibio a sathru'r ddraenen dan draed!10Amaseia, mae'n wir dy fod ti wedi gorchfygu Edom, ond mae wedi mynd i dy ben di! Mwynha dy lwyddiant ac aros adre. Wyt ti'n edrych am drwbwl? Dw i'n dy rybuddio di, byddi di a dy deyrnas yn syrthio gyda'ch gilydd!”
11Ond doedd Amaseia ddim am wrando. Felly dyma Jehoas, brenin Israel, yn mynd i ryfel yn ei erbyn. Dyma nhw'n dod wyneb yn wyneb yn Beth-shemesh ar dir Jwda. 12Byddin Israel wnaeth ennill y frwydr, a dyma filwyr Jwda i gyd yn dianc am adre. 13Roedd Jehoas, brenin Israel, wedi dal Amaseia, brenin Jwda, yn Beth-shemesh. A dyma fe'n mynd ymlaen i Jerwsalem a chwalu waliau'r ddinas o Giât Effraim at Giât y Gornel, pellter o bron i ddau can metr. 14Yna dyma fe'n cymryd yr holl aur ac arian, a'r llestri oedd yn y deml ac yn storfa'r palas. Cymerodd wystlon hefyd, ac yna mynd yn ôl i Samaria. 15Mae gweddill hanes Jehoas, y cwbl wnaeth e, ei lwyddiant milwrol a'i ddewrder yn y rhyfel yn erbyn Amaseia, brenin Jwda, i'w weld yn y sgrôl Hanes Brenhinoedd Israel. 16Pan fuodd Jehoas farw cafodd ei gladdu yn Samaria gyda brenhinoedd Israel, a dyma'i fab, Jeroboam, yn dod yn frenin yn ei le. 17Buodd Amaseia fab Joas, brenin Jwda, fyw am un deg pump o flynyddoedd ar ôl i Jehoas, brenin Israel, farw. 18Mae gweddill hanes Amaseia i'w gael yn y sgrôl Hanes Brenhinoedd Jwda. 19Dyma ryw bobl yn Jerwsalem yn cynllwynio yn ei erbyn, a dyma fe'n dianc i Lachish. Ond dyma nhw'n anfon dynion ar ei ôl a'i ladd yno. 20Dyma'r corff yn cael ei gymryd yn ôl i Jerwsalem ar geffylau, a cafodd ei gladdu yn Ninas Dafydd gyda'i hynafiaid. 21Yna dyma bobl Jwda i gyd yn cymryd Wseia, ▼

23Pan oedd Amaseia fab Joas, wedi bod yn frenin Jwda am un deg pump o flynyddoedd, dyma Jeroboam fab Jehoas yn dod yn frenin ar Israel. Bu'n frenin yn Samaria am bedwar deg un o flynyddoedd. 24Gwnaeth bethau drwg iawn yng ngolwg yr Arglwydd, a gwrthod troi cefn ar yr eilunod roedd Jeroboam fab Nebat wedi eu codi i achosi i bobl Israel bechu. 25Ennillodd dir yn ôl i Israel nes bod y ffin yn mynd o Fwlch Chamath yn y gogledd i'r Môr Marw ▼▼14:25 Hebraeg, “Môr yr Araba”

Doedd neb o gwbl ar ôl, caeth na rhydd, i'w helpu. 27Ond doedd yr Arglwydd ddim am gael gwared ag Israel yn llwyr, felly dyma fe'n anfon Jeroboam fab Jehoas i'w hachub nhw. 28Mae gweddill hanes Jeroboam, y cwbl wnaeth e ei gyflawni a'i lwyddiant milwrol yn adennill rheolaeth dros drefi Damascus a Chamath, i gyd i'w gweld yn y sgrôl Hanes Brenhinoedd Israel. 29Bu farw Jeroboam a chafodd ei gladdu gyda brenhinoedd Israel. A dyma Sechareia, ei fab, yn dod yn frenin yn ei le.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
