Joseia'n dathlu'r Pasg
(2 Brenhinoedd 23:21-23) 1Dyma Joseia'n dathlu Gŵyl y Pasg i'r Arglwydd yn Jerwsalem. Cafodd ŵyn y Pasg eu lladd ar y pedwerydd ar ddeg o'r mis cyntaf. 2Roedd Joseia wedi trefnu dyletswyddau yr offeiriaid, a'u hannog i wneud eu gwaith yn nheml yr Arglwydd. 3Wedyn dyma fe'n dweud wrth y Lefiaid oedd i ddysgu pobl Israel am yr offrymau a'r aberthau oedd i'w cysegru i'r Arglwydd, “Gosodwch yr Arch Sanctaidd yn y deml wnaeth Solomon, mab Dafydd brenin Israel, ei hadeiladu. Does dim angen i chi ei chario ar eich ysgwyddau bellach. Nawr rhowch eich hunain i wasanaethu'r Arglwydd eich Duw a'i bobl Israel! 4Trefnwch eich hunain yn grwpiau yn ôl eich teuluoedd fel roedd y brenin Dafydd a Solomon ei fab wedi dweud. 5Safwch yn y deml i helpu'r bobl o'r llwyth mae eich teulu chi yn ei gynrychioli. 6Lladdwch ŵyn y Pasg, mynd trwy'r ddefod o buro eich hunain, a paratoi popeth i'ch pobl allu gwneud beth roedd yr Arglwydd wedi ei ddweud trwy Moses.” 7Roedd Joseia wedi rhoi ei anifeiliaid ei hun i'r bobl oedd yno eu cyflwyno'n offrwm – 30,000 o ŵyn a geifr ifanc, a 3,000 o deirw ifanc. 8Rhoddodd ei swyddogion hefyd anifeiliaid yn offrymau gwirfoddol i'r bobl, yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid. Rhoddodd Chilceia, Sechareia a Iechiel, prif swyddogion teml Dduw 2,600 o ŵyn a geifr ifanc a 300 o wartheg. 9Rhoddodd Conaneia a'i frodyr Shemaia a Nethanel, a Chashafeia, Jeiel a Iosafad, arweinwyr y Lefiaid 5,000 o ŵyn a geifr ifanc ar gyfer aberth y Pasg a 500 o wartheg. 10Pan oedd popeth yn barod, dyma'r offeiriaid yn sefyll yn eu lle, a'r Lefiaid yn eu grwpiau, fel roedd y brenin wedi gorchymyn. 11Yna dyma'r nhw'n lladd ŵyn y Pasg, a dyma'r offeiriaid yn sblasio'r gwaed o gwmpas yr allor tra roedd y Lefiaid yn blingo'r anifeiliaid. 12Roedden nhw'n rhoi'r offrymau oedd i'w llosgi'n llwyr ar un ochr a'u rhannu i'r bobl yn eu grwpiau teuluol er mwyn i'r rheiny eu cyflwyno i'r Arglwydd fel mae'n dweud yn Sgrôl Moses. (Roedden nhw'n gwneud yr un peth gyda'r gwartheg hefyd.) 13Wedyn roedden nhw'n rhostio ŵyn y Pasg ar dân agored yn ôl y ddefod, a berwi'r offrymau sanctaidd mewn crochanau, pedyll a dysglau cyn eu rhannu'n gyflym i'r bobl. 14Wedyn roedd rhaid i'r Lefiaid baratoi ar gyfer eu hunain a'r offeiriad. Roedd yr offeiriaid, disgynyddion Aaron, yn dal i losgi'r offrymau a'r braster pan oedd hi'n dechrau nosi. Roedd y Lefiaid yn paratoi ar eu cyfer eu hunain a'r offeiriaid, sef disgynyddion Aaron. 15Roedd disgynyddion Asaff, sef y cantorion, yn aros yn eu lle fel roedd Dafydd, Asaff, Heman a Iedwthwn (proffwyd y brenin) wedi dweud. Ac roedd y rhai oedd yn gofalu am y giatiau yn aros lle roedden nhw. Doedd dim rhaid iddyn nhw adael eu lleoedd am fod y Lefiaid eraill yn paratoi eu hoffrymau nhw. 16Felly cafodd y paratoadau ar gyfer dathlu Pasg yr Arglwydd eu gwneud i gyd y diwrnod hwnnw. Cafodd yr offrymau oedd i'w llosgi'n llwyr eu cyflwyno i gyd ar allor yr Arglwydd fel roedd y Brenin Joseia wedi gorchymyn. 17Felly dyma holl bobl Israel oedd yn bresennol yn cadw'r Pasg yr adeg honno, a Gŵyl y Bara Croyw am saith diwrnod. 18Doedd Pasg tebyg ddim wedi ei gadw yn Israel ers cyfnod y proffwyd Samuel. Doedd dim un o frenhinoedd Israel wedi cynnal Pasg tebyg i'r un yma. Roedd y brenin Joseia, yr offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid, pobl Jwda ac Israel i gyd yno, heb sôn am bawb oedd yn byw yn Jerwsalem. 19Roedd Joseia wedi bod yn frenin am un deg wyth o flynyddoedd pan gynhaliwyd y Pasg yma.Joseia'n cael ei ladd mewn brwydr
(2 Brenhinoedd 23:28-30) 20Ar ôl i Joseia gael trefn ar y bopeth yn y deml, dyma Necho, brenin yr Aifft, yn dod i frwydro yn Carcemish ar lan Afon Ewffrates. Aeth Joseia a'i fyddin allan i ymladd yn ei erbyn. 21Ond dyma Necho yn anfon negeswyr ato, “Beth sydd gan hyn i'w wneud â ti, frenin Jwda? Dw i ddim yn ymosod arnat ti; teyrnas arall dw i'n ei rhyfela. Mae Duw gyda mi, ac wedi dweud wrtho i am frysio, felly stopia ymyrryd rhag i mi dy ddinistrio di.” 22Ond wnaeth Joseia ddim troi yn ôl. Dyma fe'n newid ei ddillad i geisio cuddio pwy oedd e. Wnaeth e ddim gwrando ar Necho, er mai Duw oedd wedi rhoi'r neges iddo. Felly aeth allan i ryfela yn ei erbyn ar wastatir Megido. 23Cafodd y brenin Joseia ei saethu gan fwasaethwyr. A dyma fe'n dweud wrth ei weision, “Ewch â fi o'ma. Dw i wedi cael fy anafu'n ddrwg!” 24Felly dyma'i weision yn ei symud o'i gerbyd i gerbyd arall, a mynd ag e yn ôl i Jerwsalem. Ond bu farw, a cafodd ei gladdu ym mynwent ei hynafiaid. Roedd pobl Jwda a Jerwsalem i gyd yn galaru ar ei ôl. 25Ysgrifennodd Jeremeia gerddi i alaru ar ôl Joseia, ac mae cantorion yn dal i'w canu hyd heddiw. Mae'n draddodiad yn Israel i'w canu nhw. Maen nhw wedi eu cadw yn Llyfr y Galarnadau. 26Mae gweddill hanes Joseia, ei ymrwymiad i gadw beth mae Cyfraith yr Arglwydd yn ei ddweud, 27a popeth arall wnaeth e o'r dechrau i'r diwedd, i'w gweld yn y sgrôl Brenhinoedd Jwda ac Israel.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
