Dafydd yn achub teuluoedd ei filwyr
1Erbyn i Dafydd a'i ddynion gyrraedd yn ôl i Siclag ddeuddydd wedyn, roedd yr Amaleciaid wedi bod yno ac wedi ymosod ar dde Jwda a Siclag. Roedden nhw wedi llosgi Siclag, 2ac wedi cymryd y gwragedd oedd yno yn gaethion, hen ac ifanc. Doedden nhw ddim wedi lladd neb, ond wedi mynd â nhw i ffwrdd gyda nhw. 3Roedd y dre wedi ei llosgi pan gyrhaeddodd Dafydd yno. Roedd eu gwragedd a'u plant wedi eu cymryd yn gaethion. 4A dyma Dafydd a'i ddynion yn dechrau crïo'n uchel nes eu bod nhw'n rhy wan i grïo ddim mwy. 5Roedd gwragedd Dafydd wedi eu cymryd yn gaeth hefyd, sef Achinoam o Jesreel ac Abigail, gweddw Nabal o Carmel. 6Roedd Dafydd mewn trwbwl. Roedd y dynion yn bygwth ei ladd drwy daflu cerrig ato, am eu bod nhw i gyd mor chwerw am beth oedd wedi digwydd i'w plant. Ond cafodd Dafydd nerth gan yr Arglwydd ei Dduw. 7Yna dyma Dafydd yn galw'r offeiriad, Abiathar fab Achimelech, a dweud wrtho, “Tyrd â'r effod i mi.” Daeth Abiathar a'r effod iddo. 8A dyma Dafydd yn gofyn i'r Arglwydd, “Os af i ar ôl y rhai wnaeth ymosod, wna i eu dal nhw?” A dyma'r Arglwydd yn ei ateb, “Dos ar eu holau. Byddi'n eu dal nhw ac yn llwyddo i achub y rhai sydd wedi cael eu cipio!” 9Felly i ffwrdd a Dafydd, a'i chwe chant o ddynion gydag e. Dyma nhw'n cyrraedd Wadi Besor, ▼▼30:9 Wadi Besor Rhyw 15 milltir i'r de o Siclag.

(Roedd dau gant wedi aros ar ôl am eu bod yn rhy flinedig i groesi Wadi Besor.) 11Dyma nhw'n dod o hyd i ddyn o'r Aifft mewn cae, a mynd â fe at Dafydd. Dyma nhw'n rhoi ychydig o fwyd iddo a diod o ddŵr. 12Wedyn dyma nhw'n rhoi bar o ffigys a dau lond dwrn o rhesins iddo, a daeth ato'i hun. Doedd e ddim wedi cael dim byd i'w fwyta na'i yfed ers tri diwrnod. 13Dyma Dafydd yn ei holi, “O ble ti'n dod? Pwy ydy dy feistr di?” A dyma'r bachgen yn ateb, “Dw i'n dod o'r Aifft ac yn gaethwas i un o'r Amaleciaid. Gadawodd fy meistr fi yma dridiau yn ôl am fy mod i'n sâl. 14Roedden ni newydd ymosod ar Negef y Cerethiaid, ▼▼30:14 Enw arall ar y Philistiaid, oedd yn dod o Creta yn wreiddiol.

Ac roedden ni wedi rhoi Siclag ar dân.” 15Dyma Dafydd yn gofyn iddo, “Wnei di'n harwain ni at yr ymosodwyr yma?” A dyma fe'n ateb, “Addo i mi o flaen dy Dduw y gwnei di ddim fy lladd i, na'm rhoi i yn ôl i'm meistr, a gwna i dy arwain di atyn nhw.” 16Pan aeth e â Dafydd atyn nhw, roedden nhw dros bob man. Roedden nhw'n bwyta ac yn yfed ac yn dathlu am eu bod wedi llwyddo i ddwyn cymaint o wlad y Philistiaid ac o Jwda. 17Yna cyn i'r wawr dorri dyma Dafydd a'i fyddin yn ymosod arnyn nhw. Buon nhw'n ymladd drwy'r dydd nes oedd hi'n dechrau nosi. Yr unig rai wnaeth lwyddo i ddianc oedd rhyw bedwar cant o ddynion ifanc wnaeth ffoi ar gefn camelod. 18Llwyddodd Dafydd i achub popeth oedd yr Amaleciaid wedi ei gymryd, gan gynnwys ei ddwy wraig. 19Doedd neb ar goll, o'r ifancaf i'r hynaf, gan gynnwys y plant. Cafodd yn ôl bawb a phopeth oedd wedi ei ddwyn. 20Yna cymerodd Dafydd y defaid a'r gwartheg a'u gyrru nhw o flaen gweddill yr anifeiliaid. Roedd pawb yn dweud, “Dyma wobr Dafydd!” 21Yna aeth Dafydd yn ôl i Wadi Besor, at y dau gant o ddynion oedd wedi bod yn rhy flinedig i'w ddilyn. Dyma'r dynion yn dod allan i'w gyfarfod e a'i filwyr. Pan ddaeth atyn nhw dyma Dafydd yn eu cyfarch. 22Ond roedd yna rai dynion drwg am godi stŵr ymhlith y rhai aeth gyda Dafydd, a dyma nhw'n dweud, “Pam ddylai'r rhain gael siâr o'r ysbail? Wnaethon nhw ddim dod gyda ni! Caiff pob un ohonyn nhw gymryd ei wraig a'i blant yn ôl, ond wedyn rhaid iddyn nhw adael!” 23Ond meddai Dafydd, “Na, peidiwch gwneud hynny ar ôl popeth mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei roi i ni! Fe wnaeth ofalu amdanon ni, a rhoi'r dynion wnaeth ymosod arnon ni yn ei gafael ni. 24Does neb yn mynd i wrando arnoch chi yn siarad fel yna! Yr un fydd siâr y rhai aeth i ymladd a'r rhai arhosodd gyda'r offer. Dylen nhw rannu'n deg gyda'i gilydd. c” 25A dyna'r rheol a'r drefn yn Israel hyd heddiw. 26Wedi i Dafydd ddod yn ôl i Siclag, dyma fe'n anfon peth o'r ysbail i arweinwyr Jwda roedd e'n ffrindiau gyda nhw. “Dyma i chi rodd o ysbail gelynion yr Arglwydd!” meddai. 27Anfonodd beth i'r lleoedd canlynol: Bethel, Ramoth yn y Negef, a Iattir; 28Aroer, Siffmoth, Eshtemoa, 29a Rachal; trefi'r Ierachmeëliaid a'r Ceneaid; 30Horma, Bor-ashan, Athach, 31a Hebron; ac i bobman arall roedd e wedi bod gyda'i ddynion o bryd i'w gilydd.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
