Dafydd yn arbed bywyd Saul eto
1Dyma bobl Siff yn mynd i Gibea i weld Saul eto, a a dweud wrtho fod Dafydd yn cuddio ar Fryn Hachila wrth ymyl Jeshimon. 2Felly, dyma Saul yn mynd i lawr i anialwch Siff, gyda thair mil o filwyr gorau Israel, i chwilio am Dafydd. 3Dyma Saul yn codi gwersyll wrth y ffordd fawr ar Fryn Hachila wrth ymyl Jeshimon, ond roedd Dafydd allan yn yr anialwch. Pan glywodd Dafydd fod Saul wedi dod ar ei ôl, 4dyma fe'n anfon ysbiwyr i wneud yn berffaith siŵr fod Saul yno. 5Yna dyma Dafydd yn mynd draw i'r lle roedd Saul a'i filwyr yn gwersylla. Gwelodd ble roedd Saul ac Abner fab Ner (capten ei fyddin) yn cysgu. Roedd Saul yn y canol, a'i filwyr wedi gwersylla o'i gwmpas. 6Gofynnodd Dafydd i Achimelech yr Hethiad, ac i frawd Joab, sef Abishai fab Serwia ▼▼26:6 Serwia Roedd Serwia yn chwaer i Dafydd (gw. 1 Cronicl 2:16), felly roedd Abishai yn nai iddo.
, “Pwy sydd am ddod i lawr gyda mi i wersyll Saul?” A dyma Abishai yn ateb, “Dof i hefo ti.” 7Felly ar ôl iddi nosi, dyma Dafydd ac Abishai yn mynd i ganol y milwyr. A dyna lle roedd Saul yn cysgu. Roedd ei waywffon wedi ei gwthio i'r ddaear wrth ei ben, ac roedd Abner a'r milwyr yn gorwedd o'i gwmpas. 8“Mae Duw wedi rhoi dy elyn yn dy afael di heddiw,” meddai Abishai wrth Dafydd. “Gad i mi ei drywanu a'i hoelio i'r ddaear gyda'r waywffon. Un ergyd fydd ei angen.” 9Ond dyma Dafydd yn ei ateb, “Na, paid â'i ladd! Alli di ddim gwneud niwed i'r un mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei eneinio'n frenin ac aros yn ddieuog! 10Yr Arglwydd ei hun fydd yn ei daro. Naill ai bydd ei amser yn dod a bydd e'n marw, neu bydd e'n mynd i ryfel ac yn cael ei ladd. 11Duw am helpo rhag i mi wneud niwed i'r un mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei eneinio'n frenin! Tyrd, cymer y waywffon sydd wrth ei ben, a'i botel ddŵr, a gad i ni fynd o ma.” 12Felly dyma Dafydd yn cymryd y waywffon a'r botel ddŵr oedd wrth ben Saul, a dianc heb i neb weld na chlywed dim, na hyd yn oed troi yn ei gwsg. Roedd yr Arglwydd wedi gwneud iddyn nhw i gyd gysgu'n drwm. 13Aeth Dafydd yn ôl i'r ochr draw a sefyll ar gopa'r mynydd, yn ddigon pell oddi wrth wersyll Saul. 14Yna dyma fe'n gweddi ar y fyddin ac ar Abner fab Ner. “Wyt ti ddim am ateb, Abner?” meddai. “Pwy sydd yna'n galw ar y brenin?” meddai Abner. 15“Dwyt ti ddim llawer o ddyn!” meddai Dafydd. “Ro'n i'n meddwl mai ti oedd pennaeth byddin Israel! Pam wyt ti ddim wedi gwarchod dy feistr? Daeth un o'm milwyr draw acw i'w ladd e – dy feistr di, ie, dy frenin di! 16Wnest ti ddim job dda iawn. Dych chi i gyd yn haeddu marw am beidio amddiffyn eich meistr, yr un wnaeth yr Arglwydd ei eneinio'n frenin. Dos i edrych ble mae gwaywffon y brenin, a'r botel ddŵr oedd wrth ei ben!” 17Dyma Saul yn nabod llais Dafydd. “Ai ti sydd yna Dafydd, machgen i?” meddai. A dyma Dafydd yn ateb, “Ie, fy meistr y brenin, fi sydd yma. 18Pam wyt ti wedi dod ar fy ôl i, syr? Be dw i wedi ei wneud? Pa ddrwg wnes i? 19Gad i'm meistr y brenin wrando ar beth sydd gan dy was i'w ddweud. Os mai'r Arglwydd sydd wedi dy annog di i wneud hyn, dylai gael ei offrwm. Ond os mai pobl feidrol wnaeth, byddan nhw'n cael eu melltithio ganddo! Maen nhw wedi fy ngyrru i allan o dir yr Arglwydd ei hun, fel petaen nhw'n dweud, ‘Dos i addoli duwiau eraill!’ 20Paid gadael i mi farw mewn gwlad arall, yn bell oddi wrth yr Arglwydd! Mae brenin Israel yn chwilio am chwannen! Mae fel rhywun sy'n hela petris yn y bryniau!” 21Yna dyma Saul yn ateb, “Dw i ar fai. Tyrd yn ôl Dafydd, machgen i. Wna i ddim niwed i ti eto. Ti wedi arbed fy mywyd i heddiw. Dw i wedi bod yn wirion ac wedi gwneud camgymeriad mawr!” 22Atebodd Dafydd, “Dyma waywffon y brenin. Gad i un o'r bechgyn ddod draw i'w nôl hi. 23Mae'r Arglwydd yn talu i ddyn am fod yn onest ac yn ffyddlon. Rhoddodd gyfle i mi dy ladd di heddiw, ond doeddwn i ddim yn fodlon gwneud niwed i'r dyn mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei eneinio'n frenin. 24Fel gwnes i arbed dy fywyd di, boed i'r Arglwydd arbed fy mywyd i a'm hachub o bob helynt.” 25A dyma Saul yn ei ateb, “Bendith arnat ti Dafydd, machgen i. Does dim amheuaeth dy fod ti'n mynd i lwyddo.” Yna dyma Dafydd yn mynd i ffwrdd ac aeth Saul yn ôl adre.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
