Jonathan yn helpu Dafydd
1Dyma Dafydd yn dianc o gymuned y proffwydi yn Rama a mynd i weld Jonathan. “Be dw i wedi ei wneud o'i le?” meddai. “Sut ydw i wedi pechu? Be dw i wedi ei wneud i ddigio dy dad gymaint? Mae e'n trïo fy lladd i!” 2“Na, byth!” meddai Jonathan. “Wnei di ddim marw. Dydy dad yn gwneud dim byd heb adael i mi wybod. Pam fyddai e'n cuddio'r peth oddi wrtho i? Dydy hyn ddim yn wir.” 3Ond roedd Dafydd yn taeru. “Mae dy dad yn gwybod yn iawn gymaint o ffrindiau ydyn ni. Mae'n rhaid ei fod e'n meddwl, ‘Alla i ddim dweud wrth Jonathan, neu bydd e wedi ypsetio.’ Does dim amheuaeth am y peth ▼▼20:3 does dim amheuaeth am y peth Hebraeg, “mor sicr â bod yr Arglwydd yn fyw, a dy fod tithau'n fyw,”
, dw i o fewn dim i farw.” 4Felly dyma Jonathan yn dweud wrtho, “Dywed be alla i wneud i ti.” 5Atebodd Dafydd, “Mae'n Ŵyl y lleuad newydd fory, ▼▼20:5 Ŵyl y lleuad newydd Diwrnod cyntaf y mis, pan oedd pobl Israel yn aberthu i'r Arglwydd ac yn cael pryd o fwyd i ddathlu – gw. Numeri 28:11-15
ac mae disgwyl i mi fod yn bwyta gyda'r brenin. Ond rho di ganiatâd i mi fynd i ffwrdd i guddio yn y wlad am ddeuddydd. 6Os bydd dy dad yn fy ngholli i, dywed wrtho, ‘Roedd Dafydd wedi pledio'n daer arna i i roi caniatâd iddo fynd adre i Fethlehem, am ei bod yn ddiwrnod aberth blynyddol y clan.’ 7Os bydd e'n dweud, ‘Popeth yn iawn,’ yna dw i, dy was di, yn saff. Ond os bydd e'n colli ei dymer byddi'n gwybod ei fod e am wneud drwg i mi. 8Aros yn driw i mi, achos rwyt ti wedi ymrwymo i mi o flaen yr Arglwydd. Ond os ydw i wedi gwneud rhywbeth o'i le, lladd fi dy hun. Waeth i ti hynny na mynd â fi at dy dad!” 9Atebodd Jonathan, “Paid siarad fel yna! Petawn i'n gwybod fod dad yn bwriadu gwneud niwed i ti, byddwn i'n siŵr o ddweud wrthot ti.” 10Yna dyma Dafydd yn gofyn i Jonathan, “Pwy sy'n mynd i ddweud wrtho i os bydd dy dad wedi colli ei dymer hefo ti?” 11“Tyrd, gad i ni fynd allan i'r caeau,” meddai Jonathan wrtho. Pan oedd y ddau ohonyn nhw allan yn y cae, 12dyma Jonathan yn dweud wrth Dafydd, “Dw i'n addo o flaen yr Arglwydd, Duw Israel: erbyn yr adeg yma'r diwrnod ar ôl fory bydda i wedi darganfod beth ydy agwedd dad atat ti. Os ydy ei agwedd e atat ti'n iach, bydda i'n anfon rhywun i adael i ti wybod. 13Os ydy e am wneud drwg i ti, boed i Dduw ddial arna i os gwna i ddim gadael i ti wybod a dy helpu di i ddianc yn saff! Dw i'n gweddïo y bydd Duw gyda ti fel roedd e gyda dad. 14Fel mae'r Arglwydd yn ffyddlon, bydd dithau'n driw i mi tra bydda i byw. A hyd yn oed pan fydda i wedi marw, 15paid troi dy gefn ar dy ymrwymiad i'm teulu i. A pan fydd yr Arglwydd wedi cael gwared â phob un o dy elynion di oddi ar wyneb y ddaear 16a'i galw nhw i gyfri, paid gadael i rwyg godi rhyngddo i, Jonathan a theulu Dafydd.” 17A dyma Jonathan yn mynd ar ei lw unwaith eto am ei fod yn caru Dafydd – roedd Jonathan yn caru Dafydd fwy na fe ei hun. 18Meddai Jonathan, “Mae hi'n Ŵyl y lleuad newydd fory. Bydd dy le di wrth y bwrdd yn wag, a byddan nhw'n dy golli di. 19Y diwrnod wedyn bydd yn fwy amlwg fyth. Dos di i'r lle roeddet ti o'r blaen, a chuddio wrth Garreg Esel. 20Gwna i saethu tair saeth at ei hymyl hi, fel petawn i'n saethu at darged. 21Wedyn pan fydda i'n anfon gwas i nôl y saethau, os bydda i'n dweud, ‘Edrych, mae'r saethau yr ochr yma i ti. Dos i'w nôl nhw,’ yna gelli ddod yn ôl. Mor sicr â bod yr Arglwydd yn fyw byddi'n saff, does yna ddim peryg. 22Ond os bydda i'n dweud wrth y bachgen, ‘Edrych, mae'r saethau yn bellach draw,’ yna, rhaid i ti ddianc. Yr Arglwydd fydd wedi dy anfon di i ffwrdd. 23Mae'r Arglwydd yn dyst i bopeth dŷn ni wedi ei addo i'n gilydd.” 24Felly dyma Dafydd yn mynd i guddio yn y cae. Ar Ŵyl y lleuad newydd dyma'r brenin Saul yn eistedd i fwyta. 25Eisteddodd yn ei le arferol, wrth y wal, gyda Jonathan gyferbyn ag e, ac Abner wrth ei ymyl. Ond roedd lle Dafydd yn wag. 26Ddwedodd Saul ddim byd y diwrnod hwnnw. Roedd e'n meddwl falle fod rhywbeth wedi digwydd fel bod Dafydd ddim yn lân yn seremonïol. c 27Ond y diwrnod wedyn (sef ail ddiwrnod Gŵyl y lleuad newydd) roedd sedd Dafydd yn dal yn wag. A dyma Saul yn gofyn i Jonathan, “Pam nad ydy mab Jesse wedi dod i fwyta ddoe na heddiw?” 28Atebodd Jonathan, “Roedd Dafydd yn crefu arna i adael iddo fynd i Fethlehem. 29‘Mae'n ddiwrnod aberthu i'n teulu ni,’ meddai, ‘ac mae fy mrawd wedi dweud fod rhaid i mi fod yno. Plîs gad i mi fynd i weld fy mrodyr.’ Dyna pam dydy e ddim yma i fwyta gyda'r brenin.” 30Dyma Saul yn gwylltio'n lân gyda Jonathan. “Y bastard dwl! ▼▼20:30 bastard dwl Hebraeg, “mab i wraig sy'n butain wrthryfelgar.”
” meddai wrtho. “Ro'n ni'n gwybod dy fod ti ar ei ochr e. Ti'n codi cywilydd arnat ti dy hun a dy fam. 31Tra bydd mab Jesse yn dal yn fyw fyddi di byth yn frenin. Nawr, anfon i'w nôl e. Tyrd ag e ata i. Mae'n rhaid iddo farw!” 32Dyma Jonathan yn ateb ei dad, “Pam wyt ti eisiau ei ladd e? Be mae wedi ei wneud o'i le?” 33Yna dyma Saul yn taflu ei waywffon at Jonathan gan fwriadu ei daro. Felly roedd yn gwybod yn iawn bellach fod ei dad yn benderfynol o ladd Dafydd. 34Cododd Jonathan, a gadael y bwrdd. Roedd wedi gwylltio'n lân. Wnaeth e fwyta dim byd o gwbl y diwrnod hwnnw. Roedd wedi ypsetio'n lân am agwedd ei dad at Dafydd. 35Y bore wedyn dyma Jonathan yn mynd i'r cae i gyfarfod Dafydd. Aeth â bachgen ifanc gydag e. 36Dwedodd wrth y bachgen, “Rheda i nôl y saethau wrth i mi eu saethu.” Tra roedd y bachgen yn rhedeg dyma fe'n saethu un y tu draw iddo. 37Pan gyrhaeddodd y bachgen lle roedd y saeth wedi disgyn, dyma Jonathan yn gweiddi ar ei ôl, “Hei, ydy'r saeth ddim yn bellach draw?” 38A dyma Jonathan yn gweiddi arno eto, “Brysia! Dos yn dy flaen! Paid loetran!” A dyma'r bachgen yn casglu'r saeth a mynd yn ôl at ei feistr. 39(Doedd y bachgen ddim yn deall o gwbl. Dim ond Jonathan a Dafydd oedd yn gwybod beth oedd yn digwydd.) 40Wedyn dyma Jonathan yn rhoi ei offer i'r bachgen, a dweud wrtho am fynd â nhw yn ôl i'r dre. 41Ar ôl i'r bachgen fynd dyma Dafydd yn dod i'r golwg o'r tu ôl i'r pentwr. Aeth ar ei liniau ac ymgrymu gyda'i wyneb ar lawr dair gwaith. Wedyn dyma'r ddau ffrind yn cusanu ei gilydd a wylo, yn enwedig Dafydd. 42Dwedodd Jonathan wrth Dafydd, “Bendith arnat ti! Dŷn ni'n dau wedi gwneud addewid i'n gilydd o flaen yr Arglwydd. Bydd yr Arglwydd yn gwneud yn siŵr ein bod ni a'n plant yn cadw'r addewid yna.” Felly dyma Dafydd yn mynd i ffwrdd, ac aeth Jonathan yn ôl adre.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
