Saul yn dinistrio'r Amaleciaid
1Dyma Samuel yn dweud wrth Saul, “Fi ydy'r un wnaeth yr Arglwydd ei anfon i dy eneinio di yn frenin ar Israel. Felly, gwranda nawr ar beth mae'r Arglwydd yn ei ddweud. 2Dyma mae'r Arglwydd holl-bwerus yn ei ddweud: ‘Dw i am gosbi'r Amaleciaid am be wnaethon nhw i bobl Israel, sef gwrthod gadael iddyn nhw basio pan oedden nhw ar ei ffordd o'r Aifft. a 3Felly dos i daro'r Amaleciaid. Dinistriwch nhw'n llwyr, a llosgi eu heiddo. Peidiwch teimlo trueni drostyn nhw. Lladdwch nhw i gyd – yn ddynion a merched, plant a babis bach, gwartheg a defaid, camelod ag asynnod.’” 4Felly dyma Saul yn galw'r fyddin at ei gilydd a'i cyfri nhw yn Telaïm. Daeth 200,000 o filwyr traed a 10,000 o ddynion o Jwda. 5Aeth Saul a'i fyddin i gyfeiriad y trefi lle roedd yr Amaleciaid yn byw, a chuddio yn y sychnant yn barod i ymosod. 6Wedyn anfonodd neges at y Ceneaid, “Ewch i ffwrdd o'r ardal. Peidiwch aros gyda'r Amaleciaid, rhag i chi gael eich difa gyda nhw. Buoch chi'n garedig wrth bobl Israel pan oedden nhw'n dod o'r Aifft. ▼▼15:6 Buoch … Aifft Roedd tad-yng-nghyfraith Moses yn un o'r Ceneaid. gw. Numeri 10:29-32; Barnwyr 1:16
” Felly dyma'r Ceneaid yn gadael yr Amaleciaid. 7Yna dyma Saul yn ymosod ar yr Amaleciaid a'u taro o Hafila yr holl ffordd i Shwr sydd wrth ymyl yr Aifft. 8Cafodd Agag, brenin yr Amaleciaid, ei ddal yn fyw, ond cafodd ei bobl i gyd eu lladd â'r cleddyf. 9Dyma Saul a'i fyddin yn gadael i Agag fyw, a dyma nhw hefyd yn cadw'r gorau o'r defaid a'r geifr, y gwartheg, y lloi, yr ŵyn ac unrhyw beth arall oedd o werth. Doedden nhw ddim am ladd yr anifeiliaid gorau, ond cafodd y rhai gwael a diwerth i gyd eu lladd. Yr Arglwydd yn gwrthod Saul
10Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Samuel, 11“Dw i'n sori mod i wedi gwneud Saul yn frenin. Mae e wedi troi cefn arna i, a dydy e ddim yn gwneud beth dw i'n ddweud.” Roedd Samuel wedi ypsetio'n lân, a bu'n crefu ar yr Arglwydd am y peth drwy'r nos. 12Yn gynnar iawn y bore wedyn aeth Samuel i weld Saul. Ond dyma rywun yn dweud wrtho fod Saul wedi mynd i dref Carmel ▼▼15:12 Carmel Nid Mynydd Carmel, ond tref fach oedd tua 25 milltir i'r de o Jerwsalem
i godi cofeb iddo'i hun yno, ac yna ymlaen i Gilgal. 13Pan ddaeth Samuel o hyd i Saul, dyma Saul yn dweud wrtho, “Bendith yr Arglwydd arnat i. Dw i wedi gwneud popeth ddwedodd yr Arglwydd.” 14Ond dyma Samuel yn dweud, “Os felly, beth ydy sŵn y defaid a'r gwartheg yna dw i'n ei glywed?” 15Atebodd Saul, “Y milwyr wnaeth eu cymryd nhw oddi ar yr Amaleciaid. Maen nhw wedi cadw'r defaid a'r gwartheg gorau i'w haberthu i'r Arglwydd dy Dduw. Mae popeth arall wedi cael ei ddinistrio.” 16Ond dyma Samuel yn dweud wrth Saul, “Taw, i mi gael dweud wrthot ti beth ddwedodd Duw wrtho i neithiwr.” “Dywed wrtho i,” meddai Saul. 17Ac meddai Samuel, “Pan oeddet ti'n meddwl dy fod ti'n neb o bwys, d cest ti dy wneud yn arweinydd ar lwythau Israel. Dewisodd yr Arglwydd di yn frenin ar Israel. 18Wedyn dyma fe'n dy anfon di allan a dweud, ‘Dos i ddinistrio'r Amaleciaid drwg yna. Ymladd yn eu herbyn nhw a dinistria nhw'n llwyr.’ 19Felly pam wnest ti ddim gwrando? Yn lle hynny, dyma ti'n rhuthro ar yr ysbail i gael be fedret ti i ti dy hun. Ti wedi gwneud drwg yng ngolwg yr Arglwydd.” 20Ond dyma Saul yn ateb Samuel, “Ond dw i wedi gwneud beth ddwedodd yr Arglwydd! Es i ar yr ymgyrch fel roedd e wedi dweud. Dw i wedi dal y Brenin Agag ac wedi dinistrio'r Amaleciaid yn llwyr. 21Cymerodd y fyddin y defaid a'r gwartheg gorau i'w haberthu nhw i'r Arglwydd dy Dduw yma yn Gilgal!” 22Yna dyma Samuel yn dweud, “Beth sy'n rhoi mwya o bleser i'r Arglwydd?Aberth ac offrwm i'w losgi, neu wneud beth mae e'n ddweud?
Mae gwrando yn well nag aberth;
mae talu sylw yn well na brasder hyrddod.
23Mae gwrthryfela yn bechod, fel dablo mewn dewiniaeth,
ac mae anufudd-dod mor ddrwg ac addoli eilunod.
Am dy fod wedi gwrthod gwrando ar yr Arglwydd
mae e wedi dy wrthod di fel brenin.”
Saul yn pledio am faddeuant
24Dyma Saul yn cyfaddef i Samuel, “Dw i wedi pechu. Dw i wedi bod yn anufudd i'r Arglwydd a gwrthod gwrando arnat ti. Roedd gen i ofn y milwyr, a dyma fi'n gwneud beth oedden nhw eisiau. 25Plîs maddau i mi. Tyrd yn ôl hefo fi, i mi gael addoli'r Arglwydd.” 26“Na,” meddai Samuel, “wna i ddim mynd yn ôl hefo ti. Ti wedi gwrthod gwrando ar yr Arglwydd ac mae e wedi dy wrthod di yn frenin ar Israel.” 27Wrth i Samuel droi i adael, dyma Saul yn gafael yn ymyl ei fantell, a dyma hi'n rhwygo. 28Dyma Samuel yn dweud wrtho, “Mae'r Arglwydd wedi rhwygo'r deyrnas oddi arnat ti heddiw, a'i rhoi hi i rywun arall gwell na ti. 29Dydy Un Godidog Israel, ddim yn dweud celwydd nac yn newid ei feddwl. Dydy e ddim fel person dynol sy'n newid ei feddwl o hyd.” 30“Dw i wedi pechu”, meddai Saul eto. “Ond plîs dangos barch ata i o flaen arweinwyr a phobl Israel. Tyrd yn ôl hefo fi, i mi gael addoli'r Arglwydd dy Dduw.” 31Felly aeth Samuel yn ôl gyda Saul, a dyma Saul yn addoli'r Arglwydd.Samuel yn lladd y Brenin Agag
32Yna dyma Samuel yn dweud, “Dewch ag Agag, brenin yr Amaleciaid, ata i.” Daeth Agag ato yn ansicr a nerfus, gan feddwl, “Wnân nhw ddim fy lladd i bellach, siawns?” 33Ond dyma Samuel yn dweud, “Fel gwnaeth dy gleddyf di adael gwragedd heb blant, bydd dy fam di yn galaru nawr.” A dyma fe'n hacio Agag i farwolaeth o flaen yr Arglwydd yn Gilgal. 34Wedyn aeth Samuel yn ôl i Rama, a Saul adre i Gibea 35Wnaeth Samuel ddim gweld Saul byth wedyn. Ond roedd yn dal i deimlo mor drist amdano. Roedd yr Arglwydd, ar y llaw arall, yn sori ei fod wedi gwneud Saul yn frenin ar Israel.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
