1 Samuel 12
Araith olaf Samuel
1Dyma Samuel yn dweud wrth bobl Israel: “Edrychwch, dw i wedi gwneud popeth dych chi wedi ei ofyn, ac wedi rhoi brenin i chi. 2O hyn ymlaen, y brenin fydd yn eich arwain chi. Dw i'n hen ŵr a'm gwallt yn wyn, ac mae fy meibion i gynnoch chi. Dw i wedi eich arwain chi ers pan oeddwn i yn ifanc. 3Dyma fi. Dewch, cyhuddwch fi o flaen yr Arglwydd a'r un mae e wedi ei eneinio'n frenin. Ydw i wedi cymryd ychen rhywun? Ydw i wedi cymryd asyn rhywun? Ydw i wedi twyllo unrhyw un? Ydw i wedi gwneud i unrhyw un ddioddef? Ydw i wedi derbyn breib gan unrhyw un i gau fy llygaid i ryw ddrwg? Dwedwch wrtho i. Gwna i dalu'r cwbl yn ôl.” 4Ond dyma nhw'n ateb, “Na, dwyt ti ddim wedi'n twyllo ni, na gwneud i ni ddioddef, na chymryd dim gan unrhyw un.” 5Yna dyma Samuel yn dweud, “Mae Arglwydd yn dyst heddiw, a'r brenin ddewisodd e, eich bod chi wedi cael hyd i ddim byd o gwbl yn fy erbyn i.” “Ydy, mae e'n dyst,” medden nhw. 6Yna dyma Samuel yn mynd ymlaen i ddweud wrth y bobl. “Yr Arglwydd wnaeth ddewis Moses ac Aaron, ac arwain eich hynafiaid chi allan o wlad yr Aifft. 7Safwch mewn trefn o flaen yr Arglwydd i mi gael rhoi siars i chi. Mae'r Arglwydd wedi bod mor deg bob amser yn y ffordd mae wedi eich trin chi a'ch hynafiaid. 8Aeth Jacob i lawr i'r Aifft. Ond ar ôl hynny dyma'ch hynafiaid yn gweiddi ar yr Arglwydd am help am fod yr Eifftiaid yn eu cam-drin nhw. Anfonodd yr Arglwydd Moses ac Aaron i'w harwain nhw allan o'r Aifft i'r lle yma. 9Ond dyma nhw'n anghofio'r Arglwydd eu Duw. Felly dyma Duw yn gadael i Sisera, a capten byddin Chatsor, a'r Philistiaid, b a brenin Moab c eu cam-drin nhw. Daeth y rhain i ryfela yn eu herbyn nhw. 10Felly dyma nhw'n gweiddi ar yr Arglwydd eto, a dweud: ‘Ein bai ni ydy hyn. Dŷn ni wedi troi cefn arnat ti Arglwydd ac wedi mynd i addoli eilunod Baal a delwau o'r dduwies Ashtart. Plîs achub ni nawr o afael ein gelynion a byddwn ni'n dy addoli di.’ 11Felly dyma'r Arglwydd yn anfon Gideon, d Barac, e Jefftha f a fi, Samuel, i'ch achub chi oddi wrth y gelynion o'ch cwmpas, fel eich bod chi'n saff. 12“Ond pan welsoch chi fod Nachash, brenin Ammon, yn mynd i ymosod arnoch chi, dyma chi'n dweud wrtho i, ‘Na! Dŷn ni eisiau brenin’ – pan oedd yr Arglwydd eich Duw i fod yn frenin arnoch chi! 13Felly dyma chi! Dyma'r brenin dych chi wedi ei ddewis, yr un wnaethoch chi ofyn amdano! Ydy, mae'r Arglwydd wedi rhoi brenin i chi! 14“Os gwnewch chi barchu'r Arglwydd a'i addoli e, gwrando arno a pheidio gwrthryfela yn ei erbyn, ac os gwnewch chi a'ch brenin ddilyn yr Arglwydd eich Duw, bydd popeth yn iawn. 15Ond os wnewch chi ddim gwrando, a gwrthod bod yn ufudd, yna bydd yr Arglwydd yn eich cosbi chi a'r brenin. 16“Nawr, safwch yma i weld rhywbeth anhygoel mae'r Arglwydd yn mynd i'w wneud o flaen eich llygaid chi. 17Y tymor sych ▼▼12:17 y tymor sych Hebraeg, “amser y cynhaeaf gwenith”, ddechrau'r haf – tua Mai i Mehefin.
ydy hi ynte? Dw i'n mynd i weddïo ar Dduw, a gofyn iddo anfon glaw a tharanau! Byddwch chi'n sylweddoli wedyn peth mor ddrwg yng ngolwg Duw oedd gofyn am frenin.” 18Yna dyma Samuel yn gweddïo ar yr Arglwydd. A'r diwrnod hwnnw dyma'r Arglwyddyn anfon glaw a tharanau. Felly roedd gan y bobl i gyd ofn yr Arglwydd a Samuel. 19Ac medden nhw wrtho, “Gweddïa ar yr Arglwydd dy Dduw droson ni, rhag i ni farw. Dŷn ni wedi gwneud mwy fyth o ddrwg drwy ofyn am frenin.” 20Dyma Samuel yn ateb y bobl, “Peidiwch bod ofn, er bod chi wedi gwneud yr holl bethau drwg yma. Peidiwch troi cefn ar yr Arglwydd. Addolwch e â'ch holl galon. 21Peidiwch â'i adael a mynd ar ôl rhyw ddelwau diwerth. All y rheiny ddim helpu nac achub neb. Dŷn nhw'n dda i ddim! 22Yr Arglwydd wnaeth ddewis eich gwneud chi'n bobl iddo fe'i hun, felly fydd e ddim yn troi cefn arnoch chi. Mae e eisiau cadw ei enw da. 23Ac o'm rhan i fy hun, fyddwn i byth yn meiddio pechu yn erbyn yr Arglwydd drwy beidio gweddïo drosoch chi. Bydda i'n eich dysgu chi i fyw yn y ffordd iawn: 24Cofiwch barchu'r Arglwydd, a'i addoli o ddifri â'ch holl galon. Meddyliwch am yr holl bethau mawr mae'r Arglwydd wedi eu gwneud i chi! 25Ond os byddwch chi'n dal ati i wneud drwg, bydd hi ar ben arnoch chi a'ch brenin.”
