Swyddogion Solomon
1Roedd Solomon yn frenin ar Israel gyfan. 2Dyma ei swyddogion: Asareia fab Sadoc oedd yr offeiriad.3Elichoreff ac Achïa, meibion Shisha, oedd ei ysgrifenyddion.
Jehosaffat fab Achilwd oedd y cofnodydd swyddogol.
4Benaia fab Jehoiada oedd pennaeth y fyddin,
a Sadoc ac Abiathar yn offeiriaid.
5Asareia fab Nathan oedd pennaeth swyddogion y rhanbarthau;
yna Sabwd fab Nathan yn offeiriad ac yn gynghorwr agos i'r brenin.
6Achishar oedd yn rhedeg y palas a gofalu am holl eiddo'r brenin,
ac Adoniram fab Afda oedd swyddog y gweithlu gorfodol.
7Roedd gan Solomon ddeuddeg swyddog rhanbarthol dros wahanol ardaloedd yn Israel. Roedden nhw'n gyfrifol am ddarparu bwyd i'r brenin a'i lys – pob un yn gyfrifol am un mis y flwyddyn. 8Dyma'u henwau nhw: Ben-chŵr: ar fryniau Effraim;
9Ben-decar: yn Macats, Shaalfîm, Beth-shemesh ac Elon-beth-chanan;
10Ben-chesed: yn Arwboth (roedd ei ardal e'n cynnwys Socho a holl ardal Cheffer);
11Ben-abinadab: yn Naffath-dor i gyd (roedd e wedi priodi Taffath, merch Solomon);
12Baana fab Achilwd: yn Taanach, Megido a'r rhan o Beth-shean sydd wrth ymyl Sarethan, o dan Jesreel. Roedd ei ardal yn mynd o Beth-shean hyd at Abel-mechola a'r tu hwnt i Jocmeam;
13Ben-geber: yn Ramoth-gilead. Roedd ei ardal e'n cynnwys gwersylloedd Jair mab Manasse, yn Gilead, ac ardal Argob yn Bashan oedd yn cynnwys chwe deg o drefi mawr, pob un gyda waliau cadarn a barrau pres ar eu giatiau;
14Achinadab fab Ido: yn Machanaîm;
15Achimaats: yn Nafftali (fe wnaeth briodi Basemath, merch Solomon);
16Baana fab Chwshai: yn Asher ac yn Aloth;
17Jehosaffat fab Parŵach: yn Issachar;
18Shimei fab Ela: yn Benjamin;
19a Geber fab Wri: yn ardal Gilead (sef y wlad oedd yn perthyn ar un adeg i Sihon brenin yr Amoriaid ac Og brenin Bashan). Fe oedd yr unig swyddog yn y rhanbarth hwnnw i gyd.
20Roedd poblogaeth fawr yn Jwda ac Israel, roedd pobl fel y tywod ar lan y môr, ond roedd ganddyn nhw ddigon i'w fwyta a'i yfed, ac roedden nhw'n hapus.
Llwyddiant Solomon
21Roedd Solomon yn llywodraethu ar yr holl ardaloedd o Afon Ewffrates i wlad y Philistiaid ac i lawr at y ffin gyda'r Aifft. Roedd y teyrnasoedd yma i gyd yn talu trethi iddo, ac yn gwasanaethu Solomon ar hyd ei oes. 22Dyma beth oedd ei angen ar lys Solomon bob dydd: tri deg mesur o'r blawd gorauchwe deg mesur o flawd cyffredin,
23deg o loi wedi eu pesgi,
dau ddeg o loi oedd allan ar y borfa,
a cant o ddefaid.
Roedd hyn heb sôn am y ceirw, gaseliaid, iyrchod a gwahanol fathau o ffowls. 24Achos roedd y llys brenhinol mor fawr – roedd yn rheoli'r holl ardaloedd i'r gorllewin o Tiffsa ar lan Afon Ewffrates i lawr i Gasa, ac roedd heddwch rhyngddo â'r gwledydd o'i gwmpas. 25Pan oedd Solomon yn fyw, roedd pawb yn Jwda ac Israel yn teimlo'n saff. Roedd gan bawb, o Dan yn y gogledd i Beersheba ▼

29Roedd Duw wedi rhoi doethineb a deall eithriadol i Solomon. Roedd ei wybodaeth yn ddiddiwedd, fel y tywod ar lan y môr. 30Roedd yn fwy doeth nag unrhyw un o ddynion doeth y dwyrain a'r Aifft. 31Doedd neb doethach nag e. Roedd yn ddoethach nac Ethan yr Esrachiad, Heman hefyd, a Calcol a Darda, meibion Machol. Roedd yn enwog drwy'r gwledydd o'i gwmpas i gyd. 32Roedd wedi llunio tair mil o ddiarhebion a chyfansoddi mil a phump o ganeuon. 33Roedd yn gallu siarad am blanhigion, o'r coed cedrwydd mawr yn Libanus i'r isop sy'n tyfu ar waliau. Roedd hefyd yn gallu traethu am anifeiliaid, adar, ymlusgiaid a phryfed a physgod. 34Roedd brenhinoedd y gwledydd i gyd i yn anfon pobl at Solomon i wrando ar ei ddoethineb.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
