Mab Jeroboam yn marw
1Yr adeg yna dyma Abeia, mab Jeroboam, yn cael ei daro'n wael. 2A dyma Jeroboam yn dweud wrth ei wraig, “Rho ddillad gwahanol amdanat fel bod neb yn gwybod mai ngwraig i wyt ti. Yna dos i Seilo, ble mae'r proffwyd Achïa yn byw. Fe oedd y proffwyd ddwedodd wrtho i y byddwn ni'n frenin ar y bobl yma. 3Cymer ddeg torth, bisgedi a phot o fêl i'w rhoi iddo. Bydd e'n dweud wrthot ti beth sy'n mynd i ddigwydd i'r bachgen.” 4Felly dyma wraig Jeroboam yn gwneud fel roedd ei gŵr wedi dweud wrthi, a mynd i dŷ Achïa yn Seilo. Roedd Achïa yn ddall, wedi colli ei olwg yn ei henaint. 5Ond dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho, “Mae gwraig Jeroboam yn dod atat ti i holi ynglŷn â'i mab sy'n sâl. Pan ddaw hi bydd yn cymryd arni fod yn rhywun arall. Dyma beth rwyt ti i'w ddweud wrthi: …” 6Pan glywodd Achïa sŵn ei thraed hi wrth y drws, dyma fe'n galw, “Tyrd i mewn, wraig Jeroboam! Pam wyt ti'n cymryd arnat dy fod yn rhywun arall? Mae gen i newyddion drwg i ti. 7Dos, a dweud wrth Jeroboam, ‘Dyma mae'r Arglwydd, Duw Israel, yn ei ddweud: Dw i wedi dy gymryd di o blith y bobl a dy wneud di'n arweinydd ar fy mhobl Israel. 8Dw i wedi cymryd y deyrnas oddi ar deulu Dafydd a'i rhoi i ti. Ond yn wahanol i'm gwas Dafydd, dwyt ti ddim wedi cadw fy ngorchmynion a'm dilyn i o ddifri, a gwneud beth sy'n iawn gen i. 9Ti wedi gwneud mwy o ddrwg na pawb aeth o dy flaen di. Ti wedi ngwylltio i drwy wneud duwiau eraill – delwau o fetel. Ti wedi fy nhaflu i o'r ffordd. 10Felly dw i'n mynd i wneud drwg i dy linach brenhinol di Jeroboam. Bydda i'n cael gwared â phob dyn ▼▼14:10 dyn Hebraeg, “un sy'n piso ar bared”
yn Israel,y caeth a'r rhydd.
Bydda i'n carthu teulu brenhinol Jeroboam
ac yn llosgi'r carthion nes bod dim ar ôl!
11Bydd pobl Jeroboam sy'n marw yn y ddinas
yn cael eu bwyta gan y cŵn.
Bydd y rhai sy'n marw yng nghefn gwlad
yn cael eu bwyta gan yr adar!
—dw i, yr Arglwydd wedi dweud!’
12“Dos di adre. Pan fyddi'n cyrraedd y ddinas bydd y plentyn yn marw. 13Bydd pobl Israel i gyd yn galaru ar ei ôl, ac yn dod i'w angladd. Fe fydd yr unig un o deulu Jeroboam fydd yn cael ei gladdu'n barchus, am mai fe ydy'r unig un o'r teulu mae'r Arglwydd, Duw Israel, wedi gweld unrhyw ddaioni ynddo. 14Bydd yr Arglwydd yn codi brenin iddo'i hun fydd yn difa teulu Jeroboam yn llwyr. Bydd hyn yn digwydd ar unwaith! A beth ddaw wedyn? 15Bydd yr Arglwydd yn taro Israel fel brwynen yn cael ei chwipio yn llif yr afon. Bydd yn ei thynnu o'r tir da yma roddodd i'w hynafiaid ac yn gyrru'r bobl ar chwâl yr ochr draw i Afon Ewffrates. Bydd yn gwneud hyn am eu bod wedi ei wylltio trwy godi polion pren i'r dduwies Ashera. 16Bydd yr Arglwydd yn troi ei gefn ar Israel o achos yr eilunod mae Jeroboam wedi eu codi i achosi i bobl Israel bechu.” 17Felly dyma wraig Jeroboam yn mynd yn ôl i Tirtsa. Wrth iddi gyrraedd drws y tŷ, dyma'r bachgen yn marw. 18A dyma nhw'n ei gladdu a daeth Israel i gyd i alaru ar ei ôl, yn union fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dweud trwy ei was y proffwyd Achïa. 19Mae gweddill hanes Jeroboam, hanes ei ryfeloedd a'i deyrnasiad, i'w weld yn y sgrôl Hanes Brenhinoedd Israel. 20Roedd Jeroboam wedi bod yn frenin am ddau ddeg dwy o flynyddoedd. Ar ôl iddo farw daeth Nadab ei fab yn frenin yn ei le.
Rehoboam, brenin Jwda
(2 Cronicl 11:5—12:15) 21Rehoboam, mab Solomon, oedd brenin Jwda. Roedd yn bedwar deg un oed pan ddaeth yn frenin, a bu'n frenin yn Jerwsalem am un deg saith o flynyddoedd (Jerwsalem – y ddinas roedd Arglwydd wedi ei dewis allan o holl lwythau Israel i fyw ynddi.) Naäma, gwraig o wlad Ammon, oedd mam Rehoboam. 22Roedd pobl Jwda yn gwneud pethau drwg iawn yng ngolwg Arglwydd, ac yn ei ddigio fwy nac roedd eu hynafiaid wedi gwneud. 23Roedden nhw'n codi allorau lleol, yn codi colofnau cysegredig i Baal a pholion y dduwies Ashera ar yr allorau lleol oedd ar ben bryniau ac o dan pob coeden ddeiliog. 24Roedd yna hyd yn oed buteinwyr teml yn y wlad. Roedden nhw'n gwneud pethau cwbl ffiaidd, dim gwahanol i'r bobloedd roedd yr Arglwydd wedi eu gyrru allan o'r wlad o flaen Israel. 25Yna, yn ystod pumed flwyddyn Rehoboam fel brenin dyma Shishac, brenin yr Aifft, yn ymosod ar Jerwsalem. 26Dyma fe'n dwyn trysorau teml yr Arglwydd a palas y brenin – y cwbl i gyd, gan gynnwys yr holl darianau aur roedd Solomon wedi eu gwneud! 27Dyma'r Brenin Rehoboam yn gwneud tariannau o bres yn eu lle, a'u rhoi nhw yng ngofal swyddogion y gwarchodlu oedd yn amddiffyn palas y brenin. 28Bob tro roedd y brenin yn mynd i'r deml, roedd y gwarchodlu brenhinol yn eu cario ac yna'n mynd â nhw'n ôl i ystafell y gwarchodlu. 29Mae gweddill hanes Rehoboam, a'r cwbl wnaeth e ei gyflawni, i'w weld yn y sgrôl Hanes Brenhinoedd Jwda. 30Roedd Rehoboam a Jeroboam yn rhyfela yn erbyn ei gilydd drwy'r amser. 31Pan fu farw, cafodd Rehoboam ei gladdu gyda'i hynafiaid yn ninas Dafydd. Naäma, gwraig o wlad Ammon oedd ei fam. A'i fab, Abeiam, ddaeth yn frenin yn ei le.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
