Gwrthryfel yn codi yn erbyn Rehoboam
(2 Cronicl 10:1-19) 1Dyma Rehoboam yn mynd i Sichem, lle roedd pobl Israel gyfan wedi dod i'w wneud yn frenin. 2Roedd Jeroboam fab Nebat yn dal yn yr Aifft ar y pryd. Roedd wedi ffoi yno oddi wrth y Brenin Solomon. Roedd yn dal yn yr Aifft pan glywodd beth oedd yn digwydd. 3Ond dyma bobl Israel yn anfon amdano, a dyma fe'n mynd gyda nhw i weld Rehoboam. 4“Roedd dy dad yn ein gweithio ni'n galed, ac yn gwneud bywyd yn faich. Os gwnei di symud y baich a gwneud pethau'n haws i ni, gwnawn ni dy wasanaethu di.” 5Dyma Rehoboam yn dweud wrthyn nhw, “Dewch yn ôl mewn deuddydd, i mi gael meddwl am y peth.” A dyma nhw'n ei adael. 6Dyma'r Brenin Rehoboam yn gofyn am farn y cynghorwyr hŷn (y rhai oedd yn gweithio i Solomon ei dad pan oedd yn dal yn fyw.) “Beth ydy'ch cyngor chi? Sut ddylwn ni ateb y bobl yma?” 7A dyma nhw'n dweud, “Os byddi di'n garedig a dangos dy fod eisiau eu helpu nhw, byddan nhw'n weision ffyddlon i ti am byth.” 8Ond dyma Rehoboam yn anwybyddu eu cyngor nhw, ac yn troi at y cynghorwyr ifanc yn y llys oedd yr un oed ag e. 9Dyma fe'n gofyn iddyn nhw, “Beth ydy'ch barn chi? Beth ddylwn i ddweud wrth y bobl yma sy'n gofyn i mi symud y baich roddodd fy nhad arnyn nhw?” 10A dyma'r dynion ifainc yn dweud wrtho, “Dywed wrth y bobl yna sy'n cwyno ac yn gofyn i ti symud y baich roedd dy dad wedi ei roi arnyn nhw, ‘Mae fy mys bach i yn mynd i fod yn gryfach na dad! ▼▼12:10 Mae … dad Hebraeg “Mae fy mys bach i yn dewach na chlun fy nhad.”
11Oedd fy nhad wedi rhoi baich trwm arnoch chi? Bydda i'n rhoi baich trymach! Oedd fy nhad yn defnyddio chwip i'ch cosbi chi? Bydda i'n defnyddio chwip fydd yn rhwygo'ch cnawd chi!’” 12Dyma Jeroboam, a'r bobl oedd gydag e, yn mynd yn ôl at Rehoboam ar ôl deuddydd, fel roedd y brenin wedi dweud. 13A dyma'r brenin yn siarad yn chwyrn gyda'r bobl, ac yn anwybyddu cyngor y dynion hŷn 14a gwrando ar y dynion ifanc. “Oedd fy nhad yn drwm arnoch chi?” meddai. “Wel, bydda i yn pwyso'n drymach! Oedd fy nhad yn defnyddio chwip i'ch cosbi chi? Bydda i'n defnyddio chwip fydd yn rhwygo'ch cnawd chi!” 15Roedd y brenin yn gwrthod gwrando ar y bobl. Ond roedd llaw'r Arglwydd tu ôl i'r cwbl oedd yn digwydd, er mwyn i'r neges roedd wedi ei rhoi i Jeroboam fab Nebat drwy Achïa o Seilo ddod yn wir. 16Pan welodd y bobl fod y brenin yn gwrthod gwrando arnyn nhw, dyma nhw'n rhoi'r neges yma iddo: “Beth sydd gynnon ni i'w wneud â Dafydd?Ydyn ni'n perthyn i deulu Jesse? Na!
Yn ôl adre bobl Israel!
Cei di gadw dy linach dy hun, Dafydd!”
Felly dyma bobl Israel yn mynd adre. 17(Er, roedd rhai o bobl Israel yn byw yn nhrefi Jwda, a Rehoboam oedd eu brenin nhw.) 18Dyma'r Brenin Rehoboam yn anfon Adoniram, swyddog y gweithlu gorfodol, at bobl Israel, ond dyma nhw'n taflu cerrig ato a'i ladd. Felly dyma'r Brenin Rehoboam yn neidio yn ei gerbyd a dianc yn ôl i Jerwsalem. 19Mae gwrthryfel llwythau Israel yn erbyn disgynyddion Dafydd wedi para hyd heddiw. 20Pan glywodd pobl Israel fod Jeroboam wedi dod yn ôl, dyma nhw'n galw pawb at ei gilydd. Yna dyma nhw'n anfon amdano a'i wneud e'n frenin ar Israel gyfan. Dim ond llwyth Jwda ▼

25Dyma Jeroboam yn adeiladu caer Sichem yn y bryniau yn Effraim, a mynd i fyw yno. Ond yna dyma fe'n adeiladu Penuel, a symud yno. 26Roedd Jeroboam yn ofni y byddai'r frenhiniaeth yn mynd yn ôl i deulu Dafydd. 27Roedd yn ofni pe bai'r bobl yn mynd i aberthu yn Nheml yr Arglwydd yn Jerwsalem, y bydden nhw'n cael eu denu yn ôl at eu hen feistr, Rehoboam, brenin Jwda, ac y byddai e'i hun yn cael ei ladd ganddyn nhw. 28Ar ôl trafod gyda'i gynghorwyr, dyma fe'n gwneud dau darw ifanc o aur, a dweud wrth y bobl, “Mae'n ormod o drafferth i chi fynd i fyny i Jerwsalem i addoli. Bobl Israel, dyma'r duwiauwnaeth eich achub chi o wlad yr Aifft.”
29A dyma fe'n gosod un tarw aur yn Bethel, a'r llall yn Dan. 30Gwnaeth i Israel bechu yn ofnadwy. Aeth y bobl ag un ohonyn nhw mewn prosesiwn yr holl ffordd i Dan! 31Dyma fe'n adeiladu temlau lle roedd allorau lleol, a gwneud pob math o bobl yn offeiriaid – pobl oedd ddim o lwyth Lefi. 32A dyma fe'n sefydlu Gŵyl ar y pymthegfed diwrnod o'r wythfed mis, fel yr un yn Jwda. Yna dyma fe'n mynd at yr allor yn Bethel i aberthu anifeiliaid i'r teirw roedd wedi eu gwneud. Yn Bethel hefyd dyma fe'n apwyntio offeiriaid i'r allorau roedd e wedi eu codi. 33Ar y pymthegfed diwrnod o'r wythfed mis (dyddiad roedd wedi ei ddewis o'i ben a'i bastwn ei hun), dyma Jeroboam yn aberthu anifeiliaid ar yr allor wnaeth e yn Bethel. Roedd wedi sefydlu Gŵyl i bobl Israel, a mynd i fyny at yr allor ei hun i losgi arogldarth.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
