Brenhines Sheba yn ymweld â Solomon
(2 Cronicl 9:1-12) 1Roedd brenhines Sheba wedi clywed mor enwog oedd Solomon, a'r clod roedd yn ei roi i'r Arglwydd. Felly dyma hi'n dod i roi prawf iddo drwy ofyn cwestiynau anodd. 2Cyrhaeddodd Jerwsalem gyda'i gwarchodlu yn grand i gyd, gyda nifer fawr o gamelod yn cario perlysiau, a lot fawr o aur a gemau gwerthfawr. Aeth i weld Solomon, a'i holi am bob peth oedd ar ei meddwl. 3Roedd Solomon yn gallu ateb ei chwestiynau i gyd. Doedd dim byd yn rhy anodd iddo ei esbonio iddi. 4Roedd brenhines Sheba wedi'i syfrdanu wrth weld mor ddoeth oedd Solomon. Hefyd wrth weld y palas roedd wedi ei adeiladu, y bwydydd ar ei fwrdd, yr holl swyddogion oedd yn eistedd yno, pawb oedd yn gweini arno, eu gwisgoedd, a'r wetars i gyd. A hefyd yr holl aberthau roedd yn eu llosgi i'r Arglwydd yn y deml. 6A dyma hi'n dweud wrth y brenin, “Mae popeth wnes i glywed amdanat ti yn wir – yr holl bethau rwyt ti wedi eu cyflawni, ac mor ddoeth wyt ti. 7Doeddwn i ddim wedi credu'r peth nes i mi ddod yma a gweld y cwbl â'm llygaid fy hun. Wir, doedden nhw ddim wedi dweud yr hanner wrtho i! Mae dy ddoethineb a dy gyfoeth di'n fwy o lawer na beth ddywedwyd wrtho i. 8Mae'r bobl yma wedi eu bendithio'n fawr – y gweision sy'n gweini arnat ti o ddydd i ddydd ac yn cael clywed dy ddoethineb di. 9Bendith ar yr Arglwydd dy Dduw wnaeth dy ddewis di i eistedd ar orsedd Israel! Mae wedi dy wneud di yn frenin am ei fod yn caru Israel, i ti lywodraethu'n gyfiawn ac yn deg.” 10A dyma hi'n rhoi pedair tunnell a hanner o aur, llwythi o sbeisiau a gemau gwerthfawr i'r brenin. (2 Cronicl 9:13-28) 11(Hefyd roedd llongau Hiram, oedd yn cario aur o Offir, wedi dod â llwythi lawer o goed arbennig, sef pren Almug, a gemau gwerthfawr. 12Dyma'r brenin yn gwneud grisiau i deml yr Arglwydd a palas y brenin o'r pren Almug, a hefyd telynau a nablau i'r cerddorion. Does neb wedi gweld cymaint o bren Almug ers hynny!) 13Wedyn dyma'r Brenin Solomon yn rhoi i frenhines Sheba bopeth roedd hi'n gofyn amdano. Roedd hyn ar ben y cwbl roedd e wedi ei roi iddi o'i haelioni ei hun. Yna dyma hi'n mynd yn ôl adre i'w gwlad ei hun gyda'i gweision. 14Roedd Solomon yn derbyn dau ddeg pum tunnell ▼▼10:14 dau ddeg pum tunell Hebraeg, ‛chwe chant chwe deg chwech talent‛.

Roedd yna tua saith cilogram o aur ym mhob tarian! 17Hefyd, tri chant o darianau bach, gyda bron ddau cilogram ▼▼10:17 dau cilogram Hebraeg, “tri mina”.

Roedd pen llo ar gefn yr orsedd a llew yn sefyll wrth ymyl y breichiau ar y ddwy ochr. 20Wedyn roedd un deg dau o lewod yn sefyll ar y grisiau, un bob ochr i bob gris. Doedd gan yr un deyrnas arall orsedd debyg iddi! 21Roedd holl gwpanau y Brenin Solomon wedi eu gwneud o aur, a llestri Plas Coedwig Libanus i gyd o aur pur. Doedd dim byd wedi ei wneud o arian, achos doedd arian ddim yn cael ei gyfri'n werthfawr iawn bryd hynny. 22Roedd gan Solomon fflyd o longau masnach mawr ▼▼10:22 llongau masnach mawr Hebraeg, “Llongau Tarshish”, sef porthladd yn Sbaen.

23Felly roedd y Brenin Solomon yn fwy cyfoethog ac yn ddoethach nac unrhyw frenin arall yn unman. 24Ac roedd y byd i gyd eisiau dod i ymweld â Solomon i wrando ar y ddoethineb roedd yr Arglwydd wedi ei roi iddo. 25Bob blwyddyn roedd pobl yn dod â rhoddion iddo: llestri arian, llestri aur, dillad, arfau, perlysiau, ceffylau a mulod. 26Roedd Solomon hefyd wedi casglu cerbydau a cheffylau rhyfel. Roedd ganddo fil pedwar cant o gerbydau, ac un deg dwy o filoedd o geffylau. Roedd yn eu cadw yn y trefi cerbydau ac yn Jerwsalem. 27Roedd arian mor gyffredin â cherrig yn Jerwsalem, a choed cedrwydd mor gyffredin â'r coed sycamor sy'n tyfu ym mhobman ar yr iseldir. 28Roedd ceffylau Solomon wedi eu mewnforio o'r Aifft a Cwe. ▼▼10:28,29 Aifft a Cwe neu, Mwsri a Cwe. Roedd Mwsri a Cwe yn Cilicia, yr ardal sy'n cael eu nabod fel De-ddwyrain Twrci heddiw.
Roedd masnachwyr y brenin yn eu prynu nhw yn Cwe. 29Roedden nhw'n talu chwe chant o ddarnau arian am gerbyd o'r Aifft, a cant pum deg darn arian am geffyl. Roedden nhw hefyd yn eu gwerthu ymlaen i frenhinoedd yr Hethiaid a'r Syriaid.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
