Dafydd yn frenin ar Israel gyfan
(2 Samuel 5:1-3) 1Dyma bobl Israel i gyd yn dod at ei gilydd yn Hebron at Dafydd, a dweud wrtho, “Edrych, dŷn ni'n perthyn i'n gilydd. 2Ar un adeg, pan oedd Saul yn frenin, ti oedd yn arwain byddin Israel i ryfel ac yna dod â nhw adre. Mae'r Arglwydd dy Dduw wedi dweud wrthot ti, ‘Ti sydd i ofalu am ▼▼11:2 ofalu am Hebraeg, “bugeilio”
Israel, fy mhobl i. Ti fydd yn eu harwain nhw.’” 3Felly pan ddaeth arweinwyr Israel i Hebron at Dafydd, dyma'r brenin yn gwneud cytundeb gyda nhw o flaen yr Arglwydd. A dyma nhw'n ei eneinio'n frenin ar Israel gyfan, fel roedd Duw wedi addo drwy Samuel. Dafydd yn concro Jerwsalem
4Aeth Dafydd a byddin Israel i ymosod ar Jerwsalem, sef Jebws. (Y Jebwsiaid oedd wedi byw yn yr ardal honno erioed.) 5A dyma bobl Jebws yn dweud wrth Dafydd, “Ddoi di byth i mewn yma!” Ond llwyddodd Dafydd i ennill caer Seion (sef Dinas Dafydd). 6Roedd Dafydd wedi dweud, “Bydd pwy bynnag sy'n arwain yr ymosodiad ar y Jebwsiaid yn cael ei wneud yn bennaeth y fyddin!” Joab fab Serwia wnaeth arwain yr ymosodiad, a daeth yn bennaeth y fyddin. 7Aeth Dafydd i fyw i'r gaer, a dyna pam mae'n cael ei galw yn Ddinas Dafydd. 8Dyma fe'n adeiladu o'i chwmpas o'r terasau at y waliau allanol. A dyma Joab yn ailadeiladu gweddill y ddinas. 9Roedd Dafydd yn mynd yn fwy a mwy pwerus, achos roedd yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus gydag e.Milwyr dewr Dafydd
(2 Samuel 23:8-39) 10Dyma arweinwyr byddin Dafydd wnaeth helpu i sefydlu ei deyrnas fel brenin Israel gyfan, fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi addo. 11Dyma restr o'i filwyr dewr: Iashofam yr Hachmoniad oedd pennaeth y swyddogion. Roedd e wedi lladd tri chant o ddynion gyda'i waywffon mewn un frwydr.12Yna nesa ato fe roedd Eleasar fab Dodo o deulu Achoach, un o'r ‛Tri Dewr‛. 13Roedd e gyda Dafydd yn herio'r Philistiaid pan wnaethon nhw gasglu i ryfel yn Pas-dammîm. Wrth ymyl cae oedd yn llawn o haidd, roedd y fyddin wedi ffoi oddi wrth y Philistiaid. 14Ond yna dyma nhw'n sefyll eu tir yng nghanol y cae hwnnw. Dyma nhw'n ei amddiffyn ac yn taro'r Philistiaid, a dyma'r Arglwydd yn rhoi buddugoliaeth fawr iddyn nhw.
15Dyma dri o'r tri deg arweinydd yn mynd i lawr at Dafydd at y graig sydd wrth ymyl Ogof Adwlam. Roedd mintai o Philistiaid yn gwersylla yn Nyffryn Reffaïm. 16Roedd Dafydd yn y gaer ar y pryd, tra roedd prif garsiwn milwrol y Philistiaid yn Bethlehem. 17Un diwrnod roedd syched ar Dafydd, a dyma fe'n dweud, “Mor braf fyddai cael diod o ddŵr o'r ffynnon sydd wrth giât Bethlehem!” 18Felly dyma'r ‛Tri Dewr‛ yn mynd trwy ganol gwersyll y Philistiaid a chodi dŵr o'r ffynnon wrth giât Bethlehem. Dyma nhw'n dod a'r dŵr i Dafydd, ond gwrthododd ei yfed. A dyma fe'n ei dywallt yn offrwm i'r Arglwydd, 19a dweud, “O Dduw, allwn i byth wneud y fath beth! Byddai fel yfed gwaed y dynion wnaeth fentro eu bywydau i'w nôl.” Roedd yn gwrthod ei yfed am fod y dynion wedi mentro eu bywydau i'w nôl. Dyna un enghraifft o beth wnaeth y ‛Tri Dewr‛. 20Abishai, brawd Joab, oedd pennaeth y ‛Tri dewr‛. Roedd e wedi lladd tri chant o ddynion gyda'i waywffon un tro. Roedd yn enwog fel y Tri. 21I ddweud y gwir roedd e'n fwy enwog na nhw, a fe oedd eu capten nhw. Ond doedd e'i hun ddim yn un o'r ‛Tri‛. 22Roedd Benaia fab Jehoiada o Cabseël, yn ddyn dewr hefyd. Roedd e wedi gwneud llawer o bethau dewr. Roedd wedi lladd dau o arwyr Moab. Roedd wedi mynd i lawr a lladd llew oedd wedi syrthio i bydew ar ddiwrnod o eira. 23Roedd wedi lladd cawr o ddyn o'r Aifft, saith troedfedd a hanner o daldra. Roedd gan yr Eifftiwr waywffon fawr fel carfan gwehydd yn ei law, ond dim ond pastwn oedd gan Benaia. Dyma fe'n ymosod arno, dwyn y waywffon oddi ar yr Eifftiwr, a'i ladd gyda hi. 24Pethau fel yna wnaeth Benaia fab Jehoiada yn enwog fel y ‛Tri Dewr‛. 25Roedd y Tri deg arwr yn meddwl yn uchel ohono, er nad oedd yn un o'r ‛Tri‛. How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
