Philippians 1
В източномакедонския град Филипи (основан от цар Филип, бащата на Александър Велики, и разположен на няколко километра, северно от днешния гръцки град Кавала) апостол Павел пръв проповядвал Христовата вяра по време на второто си мисионерско пътуване (ок. 50 г.). След тази своя първа проповед на европейска земя той основал тук християнска общност, която заради своето усърдие и искрената си любов винаги била присърце на апостола: само на тях той не отказвал да го подкрепят, дори и материално. Посланието е писано в Рим по време на първото затворничество на апостола около 63 г. Повод за изпращането му дали филипийските християни, които научили за изпитанието на своя учител и искали да узнаят нещо повече за неговата участ, като му изпратили и парична помощ по своя съгражданин Епафродит. Допълнителен повод била появата на лъжеучители във Филипи. Особена стойност на посланието придават личните нотки в него. В края му се изпращат поздрави от повярвалите от императорския дом (14:22), което говори за успеха на проповедта на апостол Павел дори когато е бил затворен. Само това, че по всякакъв начин, било престорено или истинно, Христос се проповядва; и затова аз се радвам и ще се радвам. 19 n Защото зная, че това ще послужи за моето спасение чрез вашата молитва и даването на мене Духа на Исус Христос, 20 o според усърдното ми очакване и надежда, че няма в нищо да се посрамя, но че както винаги, така и сега ще възвелича Христос в тялото си – с пълно дръзновение било чрез живот, или чрез смърт. 21 p Защото за мене да живея е Христос, а да умра – придобивка. 22 Но ако живея в тялото, тогава моето дело ще принесе плод; и така, не зная какво да избера, 23 защото ме запленяват и двете възможности, понеже имам желание да си отида и да бъда с Христос, което би било много по-добре; 24 но да остана в тялото е по-нужно за вас. 25 q И като имам тази увереност, зная, че ще остана и ще пребивавам с всички вас за вашето преуспяване и радост във вярата; 26 r така че чрез моето завръщане между вас да можете поради мене много да се хвалите в Исус Христос.Съвети за твърдост във вярата
27 s Имайте само поведение, достойно за Христовото благовестие, така че било че дойда и ви видя, или че не съм при вас, да чуя за вас, че стоите твърдо в един дух и се подвизавате единодушно за вярата на благовестието 28 t и че в нищо не се плашите от противниците; което е доказателство за тяхната гибел, а на вас – за спасение, и то от Бога; 29 u защото, относно Христос, на вас е дадено не само да вярвате в Него, но и да страдате за Него, 30 v като имате същата борба, която сте видели, че аз имам, и сега чувате, че съм имал.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
